Jocelyn is short for Electryn Joltstep
@slandernlies
Joss for short. Scrub card game grinder/degenerate. Passionately mediocre Netrunner player. Thronesdb Random Girl. FaB Uzuri Main. Mach's Doctor Who friend. She/They 🏳️⚧️
Thronesdb Random for 15/07 is really quite playable. Boring big character good stuff loves having 1 costs to setup alongside 6-7 costers to protect against Marched. This little Lord makes for great fodder for 'Tinder Marge' and/or Heir to the Iron Throne. Also, his own ability can come up and matter
Thronesdb Random for 14/7 came out in the last tournament legal FFG pack but still made it's mark at the last FFG Worlds in a Targ Dragonpit burn deck ran by multiple of The Long Lances testing group. It's cheap interaction that enables discard pay offs. But the discard isn't a cost here so we...
Here's The Rat Cook again for ease of reference:
Thronesdb Random for 13/7 is great for the Rat Cook decks we've spoken about before. Paul here adds some First Snow resiliency and a big MIL icon to a deck full of cheap INT monocons. Also, that ability is pretty wild card advantage in a dedicated Stewards deck.
Thronesdb Random for 12/7 is a Melee staple in every edition that has existed since the first CCG set back in 2002. In 2.0, the lack of a draw cap and the easier access to event recursion meant that this fuelled degenerate combo decks too well. It is now errataed to Melee Format Only.
Thronesdb Random for 11/7 is a GOT era card I've never seen before and by far the biggest Sam Tarly in the 24 years of the game. He uses similar templating to Brienne (HoT) but for Reserve matters instead of STR matters. Cool! Why is he a Maester tho? He's literally only just got to the Citadel....
It's a supported sub type across multiple Factions, especially Baratheon and Martell! Let me show you my favourite Bastard pay off 😂 She's a tutor and a stax piece:
Thronesdb Random for 10/7 is another Bastard. We're on a consecutive streak of them now! We've spoken about the Core Set vanilla 2 for 2 bicons with good traits before. They teach us the basics of faction identity with their icon spread, traits, and more importantly, absence of them in some Factions
Who thematically represents an incognito Sand Snake, ready to step forth to claim vengeance and reveal herself as Nymeria, Tyene, Obara, Sarella, Elia, Loreza, Dorea, or Obella (I think I got them all 🤣) Also my goat Magali drew the 1.0 one! (2/2)
Thronesdb Random for 9/7 came out in the first chapter pack of 2.0 and never fell off. She has relevant traits and an attrition effect that scales for Melee games. She is totally mechanically different to her 1.0 namesake which has much more flavour... (1/2)
Thronesdb Random for 8/7 is an agenda from the new GOT draft set that looks fun as hell! It basically lets us be in a trait as well as/instead of a Faction. Sure it could be dull with Knight, Army, Lord etc but looking at the card file there's weird smatterings of traits like R'hllor across Factions
The cards mentioned, for ease of reference:
Thronesdb Random for 7/7 is First Snow of Winter with some assembly required. First Snow is great, but this is a card we have to draw and invest gold into. I tried it when I was trying to make Lanni Knights of the Hollow Hill a thing. Maybe all the GOT bestow stuff helps? It can make X more than 3?
Thronesdb Random for 6/7 (does hand thing) is one of the Core reducer locations. They are limited, cost 0, and we can kneel them for 1 immediately. They feel more like MtG lands than any other Econ in the game, but that reduction isn't as helpful as gold for ambush, shadows, events, or Dominance etc
Here's the Bullshit Brothers for context, and a reminder that we'll also have 7 cards under agenda from The Conclaves own text
Thronesdb Random for 5/7 is a GOT design from the most recent pack and seems like a great buff for Bara Conclave. Zero cost events go great in Conclave due to Marwyn and Gormon letting us play them from hidden zones other than hand being able to cancel a save or a big effect like Varys can be clutch
Thronesdb Random for 4/7 is a NW card that I've played much more often with a Martell House Card. Partially to pay off icon removal but mostly in an attempt to spiritually recreate my friend Ash's iconic Martell White Book 1.0 deck. Although I played NW instead of Kingsguard as the splash the idea..
This would have hit so much harder in the days before we had a Gruul Esper 😂
Thronesdb Random for 3/7 is near and dear to my heart. When I went undefeated in the Worlds Melee swiss in Minnesota in 2020, this card let me navigate the vast amounts of Stark Qohor in the field. That attachment based deck could tutor out an answer to my House of Dreams location (Starfall)..
I'mma just leave the Mountain here for no reason at all 👀
Thronesdb Random for 2/7 is good Tywin!! This card is a testament to the templating and faction pie changes in 2.0 and is hella fun to play with. We can seed our pillage Reaction payoffs and/or build an engine that looks a lot like Lantern Control. 10/10 would smash.
Thronesdb Random for 1/7 is an agenda that's pretty unplayable in 2.0 but broke 1.0. The original printing only required an 80 card deck and devolved the meta into every House playing Goodstuff.dec . Restricting it would have been no good as it would be a more consistent card advantage engine than..
Thronesdb Random for 30/6 is my least favourite Balon and my least favourite 'King' in its cycle. This honestly could be Robb Stark if we change that last ability to Stark locations instead of Greyjoy. When I think Balon, I think Unopposed and/or Mill. Thankfully, the other versions are all bangers!
Thronesdb Random for 29/6 is a GOT era card I've never seen before. I've seen the art tho, it's 1.0 Tycho. This seems playable to me for passive power control decks that are heavy on the furniture. Reducing 2 utility locations and a negative attachment seems plausible and good in table/chair.dec
