Working on this fireball sprite. Which is actually the sprites of the comet spell from Final Fantasy 5. I had to make the explosion bigger and higher res though, because D&D's fireball is really big. I've seen some scaled up explosions in NES games, and they look pretty bad.

Chrono Trigger is fantastic reference material if you're making pixel art. But do experiment, and trull through a plethora of references. I do save all of the pixel art poses that I make for characters, #PixelArt #sigilArt

The actual tough part is making the left facing sprite. Sword and board stripes are tough cause you can't just flip the sprite you have to actually put work into the sprite... #pixelArt #SigilArt

Yeah! I need to make more pixel art when I get back from cat sitting. I’ve been ripping sprites of background elements from old SNES games, and it feels like thrifting for Sylvanian Families dollhouses. I made my own trees though, so I can make forests.
