Me: Hm...I should leave 1U between the servers in my home Homelab for thermal reasons. But that seems awfully wasteful of space. Also Me: But...What if I put BluRay/DVD-RW dive that was hacked to rip UHD discs in one of those air-gap with a front-facing USB-C keystone connector?
Lazy homelab Saturday morning. Need an install of Windows of update firmware on the Lenovo nodes. Installing Windows is such an unpleasant, hateful experience.
This dumb c*nt of a car actually fought me on the oil change. Some dumb shit dog [me] way over tightened the filter. Had to tear down the whole front of the car to get enough access for a pair of filter pliers. Also, the threads on the drain plug are gacked. Going to need a repair kit for that.
The Hypnotoad is in air jail while I do a quick bit of service before tomorrow. - oil change - diff top-up - throttle cable clean & lube.
The Exo, much like the Seven, sort of requires arm restraints when driving on track. For safety.
But when this campuses up next to me in the paddock, I knew I needed a Seven.
Some times I miss my Exocet. (X0CT155) Going with the Super 7 was the right call, but the Exo was quite a thing.
I usually don't reply to spam and misdirected Telegram messages before blocking. But sometimes...sometimes replying is a moral imperative.
I have a small obsession with pouches for travel gear, especially as wallet replacements. The North Face Hazy wallet (Japan exclusive) just became my favorite pouch wallet.
I have at least one vague win for the day; rebuilding a faucet valve. Eventually. Wound up buying two rebuild kits because some asshole stole a couple of gaskets from the first kit I’d bought from the hardware store. Anyway, leaking 42-year old valve repaired.
Homelab V3 Status: OPNSense box bodged. Pigtail lead soldered to open 5vdc pads on the motherboard. Fan shroud printed & blowerfan screwed into place. Network card seems pretty stable now.
Started some yard cleanup using morning. The blackberry vines have gotten out of control. Knocked off at mid day feeling like crap, headache and heartburn.
The grocery store had a pretty bangin’ deal on tilapia filets. Decided to do a bit of pan searing with a side of brown rice for dinner.
If Kia brought the PV5 to the states I would buy one in a hot minute.
