SNP Ukraine Solidarity Caucus 🏴🇺🇦✊️
@snp4ukraine
We are a group of Scottish National Party members dedicated to promoting solidarity with Ukraine against Russian imperialism. DM us to be added to our mailing list, or email us at snp4ukraine@gmail.com.
We've made The National. David Jamieson of Conter is an infamous Ukrainophobe. The National giving him regular column inches to rant about warmongering Ukronazis does serious reputational damage to the paper. Ukraine did not start this war with Russia, and is not behaving aggressively towards Iran
Another terrible night in Kyiv. Our member, Stevie, was there on another humanitarian aid convoy with Sunflower Scotland, delivering wheelchairs and evacuation vehicles to medics and hospitals, and captured this below:
Our members, Stevie and Findlay, have just arrived in Ukraine as part of a Sunflower Scotland aid convoy, carrying wheel chairs and medical aid for sick and elderly people in front line areas. Well done both!
Unsurprisingly, the kind of people in the former USSR who still identify as communists tend to be a bit idiosyncratic.
Success! Thanks to the contributions of members and visitors, AUGB Dundee's charity fair and auction were able to raise £1465 for Sunflower Scotland. This will be spent on eco-flow batteries for mobile surgical units in Sumy & Kherson to ensure a constant supply of electricity. Good work all!
TODAY in Dundee Come along for some cakes, crafts and the chance to meet Stevie from Sunflower Scotland as he raises funds for their next convoy, leaving in June
In Glasgow, there will a Vyshyvanka Parade and concert. See you there!
In Edinburgh? Come along tomorrow to Croccante Coffee Shop on Lynedoch Place to support Jeeps For Peace
If you're in Dundee, come along to the Westgait Church on Shaftesbury Terrace this Saturday (the 23rd) to join AUGB for a charity fair. Money raised will go towards supporting our partners, Sunflower Scotland in their work supporting communuties in the frontline regions of Ukraine
Happy Vyshyvanka Day! Today Ukrainians at home and abroad celebrate traditional Ukrainian culture, such as the wearing of the vyshyvanka, the embroidered shirt. Want to join in the celebrations? Here are some events on around Scotland 🧵
Next week at Lighthouse Books in Edinburgh and Mount Florida Books in Glasgow: Voices Against Putin's War: a compliation of Russian dissidents and anti-war activists speeches from the dock
Good luck and great work keeping the aid flowing Stevie!
His latest outfit is the so-called Alliance to Liberate Scotland. We'd encourage everyone reading this to challenge his acolytes as to why they support Putin whenever they can, especially in the context of the upcoming elections.
Good luck Stevie! Our member Stevie is currently en route to Ukraine yet again, delivering essential humanitarian aid with Sunflower Scotland. If you'd like to support Sunflower you can donate to our fundraiser here: www.justgiving.com/page/snp4ukr...
This armoured van was converted into an ambulance by Sunflower Scotland, and delivered to Ukrainian medics in Kherson. The Russians just destroyed it in a double tap strike. The van did its job, and the medics survived 💪 Help us save lives, and buy a new one: www.justgiving.com/page/snp4ukr...
To answer the question, the sticking point for Labour candidates seems to be Pledge 4. Given Sarwar's overtures to Offord, it seems clear that Labour want to get into bed with Reform in Scotland, and are happy to throw refugees under the bus to do it.
Maksym Sosliuk, is the co-founder of Driving Ukraine, a charity supplying vehicles to the AFU, and their Chief of Operations in Ukraine. Based in Lviv, he is responsible for receiving vehicles, getting them repaired, prepared, and delivered directly to frontline units.
Colin Turbett is newsletter editor for the Ukrainian Solidarity Campaign Scotland and also represents them on the organising committee of the UK Ukraine Solidarity Campaign. A lifelong socialist and trade union activist he spent 40 years as a frontline social worker.
Stevie Blythe is Deputy Team Leader of Sunflower Scotland, a charity supporting Ukrainians affected by the war. Stevie has been going to Ukraine since the start of the full scale invasion delivering aid, training and vehicles to front areas including Kherson, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Sumy.
Rada Krevulko-Hunter is Chairman of AUGB Dundee. She is also a doctoral student in Abertay University and sociologist, studying the experience of Ukrainian migration to Scotland, as a Czech national of Ukrainian descent living in Scotland for over 25 years.
OUR PANEL: Joining us will be Chris Law MP Chris is SNP MP for Dundee Central, and is SNP Westminster spokeman for Business, Trade, & International Development. He has recently visted Ukraine and will discussing his trip.
TOMORROW SOLIDARITY: How Scotland Can Support Ukraine? Join us via Zoom from 6pm tomorrow for our panel discussion on Scottish/Ukrainian solidarity, and what we can do, practically, to deter Russian imperial aggression and support Ukrainians who've made Scotland their home.
We are seeing Stalinist-style historical revisionism in real time. The attempts to link Ukraine and Israel as friends and allies is pure propaganda.
RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey is a committed supporter of the Kremlin's proxies in eastern Ukraine as far back as the 2010s, and a personal friend of Aleksey Mozgovo, leader of a pro-Russian militia the Prizrak Brigade.
