Despite what is quite a limiting disability in terms of mobility, I managed to get to see Paul Van Dyk at Index in The Academy last night. Have been a fan for years and could never manage to see him do a full set. Could have been a disaster but was perfect. I am extremely pleased with myself.
Celebrating 14 years of marriage to the lovely @sorchao.bsky.social today. We were as predictable as always and went to Yamamori for dinner!
The guides who took us on a river walk had their AK-47s off their shoulders with the safeties off when there were hippos around, they said the hippo was easily the most dangerous large animal in the country and would happily eat a human.
Fuuuuck. Maramagambo!! I was there in 2004. The guides wouldn't let us approach the cave due to snakes. They said that people who were too close to the bats "very very sick".... I took this close-up of the fruit bats in the cave and put it online years ago. Thanks to @jmason.org for the repost!
I was a staffer in the Dail at the time "that woman" died. Her name was Savita Halappanavar (picture attached). It was incredibly difficult at that time to even get FG to accept legislation for the legislation for the X Case but it got done.

One of the best things I ever did during my time in politics was acting as Director of Elections for MIchael D in 2011 / #Aras11. It was a great honour to be asked to do so by his team and my constituency and I will never forget that time. I wish you well in retirement, Mr President!
