One Word, Many Threads: Language shapes the way we see the world may be a commonplace but it goes beyond that: words construct realities. Today, they are often used to make sure we are divided enough to overlook what we have in common. Knowing words is the foundation for critical thinking. 🧵
Even if nobody noticed, it was silent here the last few weeks. Life was just a bit too much. So no food post today — just my trusty pile of go-to recipes for when I'm burned out. On a positive note: I finally managed to get a sourdough starter going. Fourth attempt. We'll see. Lol. #SandDuneFlows
I have no words for this image. Maybe I do not even need to, to me this picture says more than a thousand words. My heart is bleeding for the areas and people affected. My heart is bleeding for nature. For our future. For my children. What are we doing?
Glazed tofu with red cabbage & carrot slaw, rice, spring onions. Simple, delicious: you can add edamame beans, cucumber, or whatever else you fancy. The secret is in the glaze. Tofu deserves a closer look & a lot of praise. It is not a meat substitute but rather a protein source with its own logic.
Apparently cold cherry soup is a thing somewhere. Never eaten it once. Sometimes I wonder: who are these recipes for? The people who actually live there? Or the algorithm? Anyway. Here's what I actually made today. Simple hummus. No cherries involved. 🧵
Nothing replaces a good reference cookbook. Here are my three favourite vegan cookbooks over the years. 1/5🧵
Tortillas today. Made from scratch, two young assistants again. Flour, water, a little fat, heat. That's the whole idea. And once you start noticing, this shows up everywhere — completely independently. 🧵 (1/3)
I don't train to look a certain way. I train so I can climb things. Lift things. Maybe run a short distance — at whatever speed my age allows. I want a body that works, for as long as possible. There's a Swedish word for this: vardagsmotion. 🧵(1/3)
Frozen berries, apple-pear compote on banana pancakes, made with two young helpers on a Saturday morning. This is conscious living when resources are tight and time is short. No recipe blog. No perfect kitchen. No performance. - I don't care if you're vegan or not (1/2)
Good morning! Can Americans please keep their eyes on the Epstein files and Midterms while simultaneously get someone from their “ leadership “ to talk to the Iranians???? That would solve a bunch of problems for the rest of the world.
What you should not forget when going on about the UAE at the moment is that “rich” Westerners maybe make 20% of all people there. 80% are hardworking normal people from all over the world that came to the UAE to better their lives one way or the other. Just saying.
I highly recommend this feed. Very interesting diversification of what I see in my other feeds. Its good, just try it!
Wenn die Wirtschaft allen so wahnsinnig wichtig ist (was ich gar nicht bezweifle & ist ja auch ok), dann kommt man an der Klima-Thematik nur leider kaum vorbei.
