My paper, "New Look versus ‘New Woman’: Dress and Fashion at the Threshold of the People’s Republic of Romania," explored the fluid discourse around dress and fashion as the Romanian Kingdom faced an abrupt end and Romania's Stalinisation shifted from mere rumour to reality.

My presentation, titled “No Use for Nurses: The Unexploited Potential of Rockefeller-Funded Women Medical Professionals in Interwar Romania”, examined the key factors behind the nurse shortage in Romania during WW2, despite substantial foreign assistance in the interwar period.

This paper examines the echoes of Marthe Bibesco’s essay collection Noblesse de Robe between 1928 and 1929, included in the Princess’ notebook of clippings currently found at the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas, United States of America.
