Rifling through old sketchbooks, for sh*ts and giggles. Some of this stuff is still kinda worthy of a layer of paint or two, though.
I really should just post these things when they're done, but I hate social media enough to forget for long stretches. Oh well. I considered putting in a background, but couldn't be bothered anyway.
Progress shots, already posted on Instagram, but might as well here too. The splotch in the second pic is my hand deciding to paint a little on its own, putting down a fat blob of raw umber on the book part.
Working on some different painting techniques right now, using this as the base.
The promised wip. It is, of course, on the backburner right now, because I'm looking into completely different techniques at the mo'. Some day, no worries.
Another oldie watercolour, dug out from the pile. I think I was trying to use watercolour over graphite shading. Well, it has been inked now, and awaiting acrylics. Stain is raw umber, I find it knocks down the chroma quite well, we'll see if it makes any appreciable difference.
I feel some mistakes were made, but at least its not clogging up the desk anymore.
Happened across a very old, very unfinished, watercolour. The paper is...not very good quality, so i figured to make it an acrylic painting instead. Here's a short progression from original to inks to a light imprimatura stain.
Figured to increase my posting output by showing some stuff on the drawing board. Some of it has admittedly been there for quite a while, but is some of the fraction of it which has an actual chance to be finished and painted within the next coming decade, or so.
The inktober52 axolotl prompt, finally completed. The background was giving me some grief, but I think it worked out in the end.

An old, unfinished watercolour with some measure of potential still. Don't remember too well, but probably a couple of years behind it.
Cleaning up a bit and started paging through some old sketchbooks. These are from somewhere between '22 and '23. Some okay stuff here, I might post more later.
A wee doddle in the sketchbook, I decided was worthy of some paint. Well, just a bit of painting practice, really. Maybe I'll work it some more, maybe not.
Oh hey, another sword lady...this ones a bit on the newer side, but has still languished in the painting queue for quite a while.
I had originally decided to leave this alone, because of how well the hatchings worked out, but then kinda figured to see how well those same hatchings would take the paint...
