To the doctors who don't like it when patients research their own conditions: patients wouldn't waste their precious energy on doing that if you did the research you're professionally obligated to do and gave them current, appropriate treatments as a result. 🖤💙😷🥄
I use a dermal regenerator on pretty much everything folks in your era would use an adhesive bandage for. But if it makes you feel better for me to put a colorful, sparkly sticker on you, I have a supply of those as well. Joy always helps! 🖤💙😷🥄✨🩹
Good job eating something today. Fed is best. I'm proud of you for doing your best with everything you have to deal with. 🖤💙😷🥄
You are allowed to refuse to attend any social gathering that doesn't protect your safety. In fact, I'd encourage you to refuse. One day's FOMO is nothing compared to a lifetime of regret for damaging your health. 🖤💙😷🥄
It's appalling how many doctors and governments in your era still imagine that Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) is something they can wave off as "not real" or "just fatigue" when it's clearly a neurological condition with issues manifesting on the cellular level. I'm so sorry for all of you suffering
"Self care" is not necessarily a spa day or buying luxury toiletries. That's capitalism taking over a basic human necessity. True self care is when you take care of yourself the way you so often take care of others: it's rest, comfort, and valuing yourself. Do that. 🖤💙😷🥄
You deserve to be the happiest version of yourself, even if those choices wouldn't make another person happy. As long as you aren't hurting anyone, you get to be you, and I like you as you! 🖤💙😷🥄🥰
Doctors: are your patients truly "deconditioned" or are you just failing to acknowledge and accommodate their mobility needs and other documented medical disabilities? 🖤💙😷🥄
If I could give you an inoculation against awful people, I would. Instead I offer you understanding and support, and a hope that you can avoid the awful people as much as possible. 🖤💙😷🥄
I don't actually believe in "Hell" but if I did, I'd believe in a special place in it for health care workers who lie to patients to say other health care workers won't be willing to try to help them at all so they should give up seeking help. 🖤💙😷🥄
Your era's media tell you not to eat this or that or the other thing even as your era's medical pages put out recipes labelled as "healthy" that contain those exact things. No wonder you're confused about food all the time. Eat what works for you. Fed is best! 🖤💙😷🥄
You deserve kind, compassionate, safe health care based on current science, not just what some health care worker has always done in the past that remains convenient for them. 🖤💙😷🥄
My sickbay is not a stage. I don't need you to pretend to be anything you're not. I absolutely do not want you to perform being okay or that "it's not so bad". I want you to feel safe enough to let down your guard so I can give you the care you need. I'm sorry other doctors don't give you that...
I'm so proud of you for everything you tried to do today, even if it didn't work out. It's okay to not get things done, especially if you have a chronic illness. 🖤💙😷🥄
Health care ought to make you feel cared for. I hope you find folks to care about you wherever you are in time and space. 🖤💙😷🥄
You should not constantly have to fight for basic level medical care. You shouldn't need to be highly educated to be able to navigate your way out of bad care. Privilege should not be a variable in care. You deserve better. 🖤💙😷🥄
If you think taking precautions during your ongoing pandemic plus other viral outbreaks is a political stance, I have news for you: viruses don't know about your politics. All they want is to get in you and reproduce. Mask up, stay safe. 🖤💙😷🥄
If you have access to mobility devices, you should use whatever works for you and not worry about anybody else's opinion. You'll get terrible opinions and unsolicited advice, but you're getting that anyway with your chronic illness/disability so why not move more comfortably? 🖤💙😷🥄
It's not only okay to quit hobbies that no longer bring you any joy; it's good for your health to learn to step away from stress instead of chasing it down the drain. You're allowed to try new things instead. 🖤💙😷🥄
I'm always glad to see you, even on your worst days. I'm not happy about your bad day, I'm just eager to do what I can to help. Never imagine you're not wanted just because you're going through something awful. You are wanted. I promise. 🖤💙😷🥄
Health and being abled are not virtues. Nobody who is healthy/abled is any better as a person than someone with a chronic illness or who is disabled. The systemic notion that health/ability equals "inherently good" is the core of health supremacy, and it's not okay. 🖤💙😷🥄
Every time I read history books about your era's medical systems, I'm freshly appalled at how systemic the ableism, racism, misogyny, misogynoir, homophobia, and transphobia is. I wish I could reach back through the years and make it better for you. 🖤💙😷🥄
Assume that most profit-based advertisements for most health-related products in your era are full of lies. It will save you time, money, and pain. 🖤💙😷🥄
You deserve good health care. You are not a burden just because you have chronic health problems and/or disabilities. Health care workers should actively want to help you! 🖤💙😷🥄
This is your friendly Doctor-Mom reminder to hydrate, put on sunscreen, take your meds, take a deep breath, unclench your jaw, eat whatever you can manage, and move your body a bit if you can. Oh and give yourself a great big hug from me! 🖤💙😷🥄💊🥤🧴
Your era would benefit from making it easier for people with disabilities/chronic illness to find careers as health care workers. No wonder ableism is rampant in a profession that rarely employs disabled people. 🖤💙😷🥄
Making things work within your needs is never "cheating". Workarounds, shortcuts, anything that gets more done with less energy used is efficiency, not cheating. Good job finding things that work for you! 🖤💙😷🥄
