It’s not that the new one is a bad model, though it’s not AS good, it’s that the whole production design of PIC S3 is… bad.

Rough approximation of how the E looks in Picard Season 3, made by slapping iPhone filters (especially blue saturation and blowing out the lighting) on Tobias Richtor’s cg model used for later parts of TNG remastered, which combined aspects of the 6 foot perfect model and the 4 foot chunky acne model.

Look, I’ve got many types (and being the most yourself is typically the sexiest anyway) but I’m pretty sure nobody has ever been hotter than Robin as Armond. There are so few people that can pull off this fit, but look at the warmth, those eyes… makes even that belt work!

Literally textbook level skills.

From before Generations, the TNG tech manual textbook example of an ideal saucer landing in an emergency, which… happened. It’s almost like they drew it after Generations or used this as storyboards for Generations but neither is true. In any case, Troi did fantastically well.

You’re absolutely right of course! But it’s at least half a cheat. (As is the scale difference from bridge to engineering.) There’s enough of a bump up & down in the middle to… maybe… have it be two decks there only, but this implies more… and the cutaway (like all Mill Falcon cutaways) cheats.

I mean, originally it would have been a beefed up runabout, so those nose panels are vestigial of that line of thought: nose as cockpit rather than full bridge or eventually… just a front bit or warhead/docking/whatever depending on which bts material one prefers. (I prefer the nose bridge scale)

Early concept art for the Defiant (still the Valiant among other names at that point) where it’s clearly a souped up runabout in scale, primarily so they could reuse / redress the runabout interior sets.

I make them pretty often, as do other technical minded fan artists, though I’d strongly hesitate to call what I do art in comparison to what you do which is genuine art! I ever sold my stuff I wouldn’t pretend it was licensed & official. With schematics, it’s too easy to fool folks as “official”.

Galaxy class master systems display. It shows all the decks and some key systems. Later MSDs start to include details down to the chairs on every room, which makes them sometimes look cool but absolutely pointless in-universe to get info at a glance, just busy busy busy background noise.

So… uh, not accessible. Something is better than nothing, but when the main result is being in thrall to a tech company while the public perception of homeless folks gets even worse as they are forced to be shitting outside the nice tech bathrooms, what are we even doing?

The city will see if the bathrooms, provided by a tech startup called Throne, which now contracts with 20 cities across the country, including Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., can reach the elusive goal of remaining functional and accessible to the public.

The bathrooms are free, but Throne requires people to text a number or use an app to enter so if someone breaks the rules — by smoking inside, for example — they may not be allowed back.
Throne is aware not everyone has a phone, so the company has an option to enter with tap cards. Transportation department officials said Throne is partnering with the Downtown Seattle Association ambassadors and the city's mental health responders to help those people access the restrooms.

Still, their hours don't cover the entire day and there are almost no options at night.
The new bathrooms won't help with the overnight gap yet — the city is starting out with hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in an effort to avoid vandalism. But Carter said she hopes the pilot project gives the city enough information to expand access further.

To Seattle accessibility consultant Eva Deleon, the bathrooms seemed to check all of her boxes.
Her only concern was the time limit — as one more precaution against misuse, the doors to Throne bathrooms open automatically after 10 minutes. Deleon said that could be a challenge for people with physical limitations or medical issues.
