Following out of curiosity! I haven't done mine in like... 6-7 years? But I'd been using Directions then and was happy with it. This is on natural blonde hair. (Left in for a few hours to get the intensity.) I've also heard good things about Artic Fox and Lunar Tides.
And I'm soooo happy with how it turned out! This pic is the shirt I based it on -- I wasn't going for an exact replica, I just wanted the vibe. But I actually like my new version even better than the original! I think the purple accent fabric for the eyes and mouth really gives him so much depth!
It's time for more sewing photos! Please imagine I'm grinning with delight in these. Because I am! The backstory for this is long, so I'm posting it in the replies, and I'm not expecting everyone to read it, no worries. XD Please just enjoy my awesome ghostie top cuz I'm soooo happy with it! 👻💖
this is priceless tho, thank you for brightening our days
Just appreciating some absolutely gorgeous art here. 🥰 this is my three. I'm sooo Capricorn but my Sagittarius ascendant also explains a *lot*, lol.
I'm particularly proud of these pants because I hand-embroidered that vine along the pocket bands! I drew the design myself based on something I'd seen online, and then learned some new stitches to makes it work. I'm still an embroidery noob and this is only my second time embroidering on clothes!
I don't have a lot of energy with ME/CFS, and most of what I have goes to work. I'd like to use the rest to keep up with friends, but after using language for work all the time, that's often too exhausting. However, I am at least able to use it to keep practising my sewing, slowly and steadily. 💖
This is so incredibly cool, thank you! I just looked up both mine and my wife's, and I love how different they are! ✨
Y'all I was so excited when I won this and yet I still did not appreciate how much incredible stuff I won omfg 😍 It turned up today and I'm floored. Thank you, Leigh!! It's been a rough year so far, but my heart is so full right now. Also READ SCHISM EVERYONE! I love it so much you have no idea 💖
ahaha my wife saw my post and brought the manta ray out for proper photos so here you go! I got the minky fabric as a large offcut piece from someone on ebay ages back selling a whole lot of minky offcuts. I love how over-the-top it is. ✨
So I finally tried my hand at making plushies so I could give my wife some plushies for her birthday, and I'm really happy with how they turned out. 💖 I made mistakes here are there, but as they're my first ever plushies *and* my first attempts at doing applique, I'm still really proud of them!
Wow, and talking about it brings all the creeps to the yard
Excuse me but how is our cat so damnedly adorable????
This wallaby came all the way up to our verandah recently! ✨
So glad you're home safely and that it went well!! And glad you got confirmation finally 🫂 here's some recent wallaby and kanga pics to brighten your recovery! 💖
My wife and I have been pronoucing it VICTOLY for multiple decades because of Samurai Shodown. (We originally bonded a lot over SS3.) (I've also been unknowingly spelling showdown wrong for the same length of time due to Samurai Shodown. Only finally realised a few years ago. Thanks, SNK! 😂)
This is such a great read, thank you. This hit hard and I'm going to be sitting with it for awhile. I've never heard it summarised like that before but it makes so much sense... and I can see parallels to so many other situations where being treated unfairly is dismissed as inconsequential.
I also like putting up strands of fake flowers twined with fairy lights in various places for fun! I coloured the bulbs of these fairy lights pink and purple to better match the flowers.
I've got a feature corner above my bed with removable wall stickers. They're for kids' rooms but I picked a set that works for me (I love butterflies). I bought from a local business and they're really good quality; I've moved house and they came off with zero issues and went up again fine too.
Lol I'm so out of the loop lately I didn't even know who they were and yet... 😂
Email Subject: "Your IMDb account will be closed soon" Me: "I don't remember making an IMDb account, sounds fake" Email Body: "Dear Goober" Me: "oh yeah that was definitely me then!" XD
Okay I should be in bed but first I'm going to post my pride and joy, which I finally finished sewing last night after months of working on it (note: mostly percolating ideas for how to finish it XD). I'm still a noob sewist and this is the most complicated thing I've ever sewn! But I looooove it 🥰
My wife and I are mostly housebound due to disability. She is also my carer because I am mostly bedbound. Neither of us qualifies for DSP or NDIS. This paragraph felt very on the nose, given that our dog only gets walks when my wife feels able to. In other words, I appreciate this article a LOT.
There's not one but *two* people in the replies to this being disingenuous and trying to discredit the OP and/or defend the MTL team, and both accounts have no other posts on Bluesky aside from these. Just a headsup, block and move on.
Hey, I have a backpack like that, but mine's shinier. Also it cost more like AU$40, not $400. I guess it has less layers, though?
I don't know if you use pdf patterns or anything but if you ever want to talk patterns or pattern swaps or recs, feel free to hmu! I don't know many other people who are also learning to sew but I it's fun chatting to you about it! oh and here's a pic of the only small pouch I've made so far ✨
