Yesterday after a swim I sat and enjoyed the beach for a bit. Yeah it’s expensive to move here but worth it.
Glad I got up early to do my brick sessions as sat indoors with the door open and it’s too warm for exercising. More time with my SteamDeck and the new Lego Batman game (that I’ve forgotten the name off).
New PB for weighted dips. Only recently started to do them and now up to 12.5kg for six. Last couple of weeks I’ve really felt strong in the gym. Tinning down the running while upping the cycling/swimming and maybe finding the key to good sleep is having great results. And I feel it.
Got myself some new trainers today. Was hoping the old ones were going to last to Valencia triathlon next month but last two runs haven’t been comfortable. Any wait to test these on a few days. And I got some that are wide for finally!
Finishing what started out as a foggy speed work drill than quickly became a fight against the heat wasn’t the training session of expected. I was thinking that they needed to Make some lighter Folie tops and as I finish I get an email with this years tops. White is an amazing choice. #triathlon
Another good session in the gym with my PT done. Definitely feel back to progressing again after my knee injury in January.
Went for a 15k run around the downs today. That distance is fast becoming my usual. Next weekend it’s Maverick X race so today was more chilled speed wise. Properly only going to run weekly as I build towards Gaygames and Brighton Triathlon in September as I need to work on the other disciplines.
Ran my first half marathon race yesterday. Was very wet and windy which is more my kind of conditions but boy am I exhausted today. Glad I’ve got the day off and a massage for my legs later. Make sure I recover properly.
First full leg day with my PT since injuring my leg last month (and needed 3 weeks off everything). Felt great. And date to end my day as well. Not sure it’s going anywhere tho.
Did a double training session today. PT weights session with boxing this morning then sprint this afternoon. Actually feeling pretty good for a double training session. Although having yesterday off probably helped.
Ran a local 10k today. Was aiming to run under an hour (old PB was 01:00:01) but managed to blast that and get a new 10k PR of 57:25 (race chip time was 57:50). Felt great afterwards although spent the afternoon on the sofa as reward for the hard work.
Had a good session with my PT this morning. Did get quite distracted when two guys turned up to train and they are both my type. Both are clearly straight tho have a lot of interest in my PT gets me to do.
And yeah I absolutely loved it. Really enjoying pushing on courses like this. Certainly doing longer and more challenging courses as time goes on. How long before I do an ultra? Time of 1hr 6mins 15mins is good for on this course.
I did the Beachy Head 10k run this morning. I knew it would be steep but I wasn’t prepared for just how steep it was. Certainly the steepest start I’ve ever seen on a race. According to Garmin the first hill was 100m of climb and it’s as steep as it looks.
Been out and did my long Sunday run. Went somewhere I’ve never run before across the docks at Shoreham. Still weirds me out despite me doing sea swimming as part of my triathlons over the summer. Now to sit down and play some games for the rest of the day as I’ve earned it.
Walked past this and didn’t notice the first time it spawned up here where I can’t access yet. Often falls off and I can try and catch.
New phone day. I upgraded for battery reasons from the 15PM to the 17PM. As I’m on night I set up both phones to sync while I slept. Woke up to find my 15 on 18% battery as it was so hot it had stopped charging and was draining itself. Had to give up and just do the cloud thing instead.
My new Canyon bike arrived today. Assembled it and took it for a test ride. Needs a few tweaks but it feels so good on the road (despite the poor road surfaces). This is my first road bike so it’ll take awhile to adapt from suspension MTB but can’t wait to see what I accomplish with it.
Did the Lewes Downland 10 mile today for the first time. Last year I did the 5 miler as my first trail run ever. Turns out the extra 5 miler bit is the really tough part. I loved it but boy have I felt exhausted since! Next week I’m back to run a similar 5 mile cross country course.
As I’m doing a long 10 mile trail run tomorrow, decided to help out at my nearest (we have 5 near me) Parkrun. Wasn’t expecting to have the sign but fortunately the place was more sheltered than other marshalling places. Was fun and had coffee afterwards with some of the other volunteers. #parkrun
This is taking forever. It was 26GB on my Ally X but it failed to even let me set my character up on Windows. So now trying on my Steam Deck. But boy it’s a wait just to download. Can’t it be Thursday already so I can download time Stranger.
Got around to ordering my new bike. It’s my first road bike and will hopefully see my though a few seasons of triathlons. Quite excited but now got to wait for the cycle to work paperwork to clear but should be with me in a month. Same week as my new phone. Exciting.
Ran the London Pride 10k yesterday alongside my Brighton & Hove Frontrunners team mates. Don’t often do this distance and rarely race it. Managed a new 10k best too. #communityrunning #running
Did my 3rd triathlon this weekend. Although technically it was a dualthlon due to the swim being cancelled due to weather. Was a great experience and nice to do one at home. Now looking at what to do next. Already doing a half marathon in March.
This is the elevation chart. Strava reckons I did 225m of climbing on my run. It’s knackered me out but now can spend the day on the sofa and not feel bad!
When your out for a run and find out after half way up a hill it goes down while you can see the top of the hill. This is a big one. 140m of climbing from the sea not counting the ups and downs between. When the local streets have railing to help you walk up then you know it’s steep!
Good session with my PT this morning including deadlifts, my mortal gym enemy. Considering my left hand string decided to play up yesterday/this morning I’m surprised just how well I did. Now ready for this weekends Pride before nexts weeks triathlon.
