Wondered why I kept getting occasional, random, tubeless punctures (all which sealed themselves), but couldn't locate anything causing them. Finally removed the tyre and found this nail rattling around inside it!
Molly met her nemesis today... a footbridge where she could see the river below between each of the planks. I couldn't even tempt her across with a sausage. Instead, she had to swim the river while I shouted encouragement from above.
Long ride today in blistering heat. Thankfully, the heavens opened on my return journey and it cooled down a little. However, by the time I got back I was clarted-up in towpath mud and had to use a dog-wash at a marina to clean myself up before I drove home.
Ladies and gentlemen, after a 15 year hiatus, I declare these decks officially open for business.
Took the Technics out of storage after 15 years and wondering to myself what sort of freak would pack his decks away with vinyl still on the platters?
I hate to blow my own trumpet, but this evening I drove to IKEA, walked nearly a mile round the store, bought 3 2x2 Kallax units, drove home and assembled them, all in the space of 90 minutes.
4 hour dog walk along Nidd Valley Gorge, Knaresborough, this morning. Listening to the first three St. Etienne albums along the way. Can't believe I've never listened to them in their entirety before and the weather complemented them perfectly.
Absolutely cracking ride out in the sunshine today. Pleasantly surprised to arrive at my halfway-point pub, to find a village gala in full swing. The only downside was the number of cyclists, who seemed incapable of responding to even the cheeriest of greetings. Is this a post-COVID thing?
Found my old N-2B while clearing out the spare room today, signed in gold marker by Age Of Chance when they were filming for (I think) Snub TV in the Bond St Centre, Leeds, 1987. #ageofchance @ageofchance.bsky.social
This was a particularly niche piece of kit. I remember it came with a little scalpel blade, that I used to cut up lumps of squidgy.
It's surprisingly difficult taking a decent photo of the top your own head.
Leeds Council thought it was a good idea to extend this signage last week, in an effort to sell advertising space. Also, I had to spend 3 hours in the minor injuries unit this morning, with a 4 inch gash to the top of my head.
Look, Dad. It's the same rock that I dragged out of the river and left here 2 hours ago.
Having a clear-out of the spare room today and found this, recorded by Tim Garbutt before he formed the Utah Saints. I need to dig out the cassette deck and get this digitised sharpish. This is going to take me right back...
Mrs Molly Munchkin has been for x-rays today... hip dysplasia, arthritis in her feet and stenosis in her back. Thankfully, it can be managed with meds, hydrotherapy (I struggle to get her out the water, anyway) and I may need to build some steps for her to climb onto the bed.
My Genesis Croix de Fer Ti is 10yo! When I bought it, I had some idea how durable titanium was, but I was surprised by how versatile this frame could be. 3 different groupsets later... Get the right frame and you won't need to buy another bike*. *You always need to buy another bike.
Someone heard the honing rod in action, which means meat is being prepared.
Bright moon tonight. For a brief moment I thought someone was targeting my house with a spotlight.
Nice long dog walk across Ilkley Moor today. I'd like to think that if someone excavated underneath the Calf rock, they'd find the remains of an intrepid, but unfortunate pre-historic boulderer.
