I have a silly weakness for using the verb itself as a SFX caption. Splashy SFX balloon that's just CATCH! The dumber the better. I think the hardest I've ever laughed at it might be this Daisy Owl strip. God, I miss Daisy Owl.

Doesn't have the hot pink glow around the edges to really make it pop. What REALLY takes me out, though? 4-tone shading. I couldn't find a good example quickly and I've already spent way too much time on this diatribe, so I mocked up a quick facsimile in MSpaint using the last screenshot:
Here are two examples of older-style shading I find less distracting. The classic, older anime 2-tone shading, and a less obnoxious modern-ish 3-tone. Like, that third layer of brighter lighting low on the ass cheeks isn't strictly NECESSARY, I think, but it also doesn't piss me off. It's subtle.
In this other example, they threw in some sweat drops to convey wetness, but like...the bright shine spots are INSIDE the shadow, hello??? Is the light coming from behind her to create the area of shadow in the middle of her tits, or directly in front of her to create the shines?
THESE fuckin' things, specifically. These omnipresent hot pink oval lighting spots they'll perfectly mirror and stick in 8 different places. Human skin should only shine to that degree if covered in baby oil and under a spotlight, and they'll do it when bone-dry in a dimly lit room.
