#12: Celeste Still one of the best ever. Nothing quite as satisfying out there as finally finishing a tough screen in Celeste

#11: Star Fox (2026) Great remake of one of my favorite games ever! Only real complaint is the boss voice acting is not nearly hammy enough

8 years later, this level still kicks my ass. But I beat it again! Just 8C and Farewell to go

#10: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Still my favorite Mario game, it just feels so good. Only complaint I have is the green stars should not kick you out of the level when you collect them

#9: Mina the Hollower Had a ton of fun with this even if it’s very tough and frustrating at times. Great style and fun combat

#8: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Way better than it has any right to be! Didn’t love the combat but some excellent platforming challenges

#7: Pragmata What a fun time! Had a blast hacking and shooting

#6 Pokémon Pokopia Not my genre at all, but even I had a lot of fun with this

#5: Blue Prince I had so much fun with this! I walked away after Room 46, but I wish I was the kind of person who would continue to dig even deeper

#4: Castlevania: Circle of the Moon Maybe this first metroidvania I ever played back at the GBA launch? That nostalgia helps what is other wise a pretty middling game

#3: Love Eternal Celeste + VVVVVVV + David Lynch vibes That final screen is one of the hardest things I’ve beaten in a game.

#2: Yakuza 0 First time playing a Yakuza game! Had a great time, fun characters and story. Combat was serviceable enough to get me to the next fun cutscene

#15: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond What a strange game. You can feel the tortured development cycle everywhere and there’s plenty of stuff that doesn’t work. But it still plays like Prime I had a lot of fun. Games like Metroid Prime don’t really exist, so I’ll take what I can get

#14: Picross S: Genesis & Master System Edition Picross never misses

#13: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Glad to finally get into this series! A very slow burn, but quite charming

#12: Before Your Eyes Well that was amazing. Got me to use my PSVR2 for the first time in forever

#11: Luigi’s Mansion It holds up! Very fun and super quick. The bosses really suck though
