The forecast had said rain all week, but there has been so many sunny pockets that it hasn’t felt like it.

I didn’t have any blue fenugreek so I subbed mustard seeds and celery greens. Then subbed tumeric for the marigold petals. It completely changed the flavor of the plums. I want to order some blue fenugreek now because I would definitely try that again!

Parks and Rec set up a giant screen for the US men’s game at the indoor soccer field! Fun third space to watch in!

Juneau does a lot of amazing Pride events all throughout the month culminating in Glitz! Which funds the painting of the rainbow crosswalk… which continues to get vandalized every year :(

I’m usually at Denaina for professional reasons, so it feels a little naughty to be having a beer and listening to live music in front of it

A little sad that this is the last time our Juneau chapter is cooking at the Glory Hall Shelter. It’s been an amazing experience the last 3 years to organize this bunch of volunteers. Hope to continue to volunteer with a different group in the future.

…so there were 2 picnics plus Gold Rush Days happening at Sandy Beach today. I was worried I was going to have to park far away and walk with the trays, but the potluck parking deities were smiling upon me.

Made herring egg poké for the first two picnics. Experimented with (natural) food dye to see if I could make rainbow rice for the Pride Picnic. #foodsky

Oh boy… left to take the boys fishing and came back to see this post had left drifted beyond Alaska Sky! No fish but the seal was hanging out again.

Finally made it to Northwide Table to try their Alaskan Soul Food. It’s made fresh, so prepare for a bit of a wait! And I came prepared with a @anchistorian.bsky.social book.
