Bertie looks so cute. We have a 2 year old white and black cat who kinda looks like your Bertie. Squishy and lovey. He is absolutely the sweetest cat I’ve ever known. He claimed our geriatric female tabby as his mom and she adores him too.

The weather is not going to get better. If the heat index is 107° when the temp is 95° (as it is now)- what will the heat index be when the temp is 103???

Cherish the moment! We’ve never had a tux before and this guy is so fun. He is not a cuddly lap cat, but is ALWAYS next to us. I’ve never had a cat like him. Here he is backseat driving on the RV.

I could not agree with this part more, but people do go to DC for the 4th. I think some will stay away b/c of anti Trump & many will stay away b/c of costs. There will be people there though, but it will not be the crowd he desires and dreamed about. He won’t be satisfied! 😏 (Fall in DC is 😍)

DC July 4th is always hot and humid and has bad traffic and is never pleasant. The thunderstorms that pop up can be brutal.

The peeling happened ONE DAY after the hydrogen peroxide was added by the park service to kill the algae. But yeh, a knife, whatever. 🙄

4:30 pm - 30 miles West of DC - hot as heck and a thunderstorm watch. The Heat index is 103° This is how it often is here in June and July. We shall see what Sunday holds.

Yes. The cup of mealworms and suet sits in the middle of the cage, iwhich is sized to allow bluebirds and smaller birds inside. It keeps the starlings, grackles and squirrels out. It’s great! We mounted a camera from a bird buddy feeder inside. We’ve already had one brood through this summer.

So pretty! I spotted this little cactus, on a hike near Medina, TX, last week. iNaturalist says it is a Missouri Foxtail Cactus and is native. #Cactus

Small, round, domed shaped, dark green cactus, about an inch and a half tall; covered in light tan spikes, which spread horizontally to the cactus body. 3 round, red, berries are on the cactus body, below the spikes. Seen a rocky soil with bits of dead cedar surrounding it.
