Look at this absolutely adorable chocolate bar found at Sabayons #yyj. Teh tarik was my drink when we lived in Singapore.
Cool rock alert! It may be hard to tell in the photo but those thin bands are quartz. (The green is epidote, maybe?) Very unusual. Look for it down on McNeill Bay! (Just kidding, obviously I’m taking it home.)

Fun fact: when we moved to Oak Bay our little street with no center line was signed for 50km/h. Carl kicked up a fuss and they took the signs down, but the limit was not changed. So, incredibly, these two streets have the same speed limit.

New kids on the block. So far I’ve spotted these little ones holding up a line of traffic while they nursed in the middle of the street, and following me and my large dog on our evening walk.
Last spring I sheet mulched our yard and planted a bunch of stuff. This year: a profusion of plants, a dozen kinds of pollinators flitting and buzzing, and purple finches literally frolicking in the blossoms. 🌱 #yyj

Yesterday in a workshop through Victoria BC parks & rec I cleared some invasive English ivy and learned how to make a basket with it. It was all ridiculously wholesome.
Another two-hour #pedalpoll shift, another 120 bikes logged going past a single point in Oak Bay Village. Not too shabby … especially since the investment in making Oak Bay Avenue safe and pleasant for cycling has been pretty minimal. #yyjbike
