Day 19: Depeche Mode: Black Celebration (1986) Really dug this one! Can be very beautiful sometimes, as well as thrilling and sombre. The interlude songs are a little iffy for me but this was still a fun listening experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 18: Pet Shop Boys: Actually (1987) Pretty good, I think I'll warm up to it once I start listening to more PSB. A little repetitive but at least I wasn't yawning like the guy on the cover lol. Or grimacing like the other guy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 16: Deftones: White Pony (2000) I HATED the one before this, and this one shares most of its elements. So why do I like this more? I think cuz it has more breathing space. Quiet moments, atmosphere, etc. Better production helps too. Im startin to see why these guys are so loved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 15: Earth Wind & Fire: All n All (1977) A day late but oh well. Got a slight headache so this'll be short. All in all this is a great classic album! The production is SO clean and the vocals are so good! Running won Grammy for best R&B instrumental in '78. Need I say more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 14: Advantage Lucy: Station (2000) A fun and worthy successor to their previous album Fanfare, if not a little retread-y of its musical and lyrical themes. But hey they still don't half-ass it so that's something! The 8th tracks very underrated & I hope my shoegaze friend agrees w me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 13: The Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (2002) This ones sorta cheating cuz it wasn't on my wheel. But it's an album I listened to for the first time today and I like it. Sorry Hopes & Fears by Keane. You'll always have the two hit singles people will only know you for. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 12: Olive Rodrigo: You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love (2026) Happy birth to this album! Quite good, though I hate all the people hating on Robert Smith's feature like c'mon guys that's unc! You don't hate on my unc Robert Smith! Listen to Disintegration and come back to me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 11: Depeche Mode: Songs of Faith & Devotion (1993) The 'Peche makes a full blown rock record and it kicks butt! I always knew they had a rock sensibility even on their synthy albums, and it's just nice to hear. Violator still clears any day but this is still fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 10: ABBA: Voulez-vous (1979) I mean it's ABBA. Hard to hate. Harder to forget. I like The Visitors better but the hits off this one are still undeniable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I haven't told anyone this but I've been binging ATLA for the past two weeks. Absolutely love it! Wang Fire is the best character and it's weird they gave him no introduction. But he doesn't need one. Of course he'll be the one to stop the Fire Lord
Day 9 - Sade: Diamond Life (1984) Pretty decent. Tho I'll say its softness less tamed the savage beast in me and more just lulled me to sleep. But that didn't make it bad, I just listened at the worst time when all my energy was used for dissolving carbs in my stomach. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 8: Kendrick Lamar: Good Kid, M.A.A.D City: Not many jokes or observations I can make here, it's just a very well-put together cohesive work of hip-hop art. Fun fact it is ten days younger than Dog with a Blog. Yes that is the lens of which I view art these days. Sad. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 7: Tom Waits: Closing Time (1973) Feels weird listening to a Waits album with no gruff voice or industrial voices. But hey I like this one, very sad heartstrings pulling album. Even tho its his first you can see some Waitsisms he'd use later in his career blossom here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 6: Happy Mondays: Pills n Thrills & Bellyaches (1990) Very groovy dance-rock album! But also very 90s. But that's good, gives us perspective on what music looked like between the 80s and Nirvana. Also I had no bellyache but I did have a headache. Too much popcorn over 2 days. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 5: Janet Jackson: Control (1986) One of the best anthems of artistic and personal freedom out there. I love this one! Some of the best produced songs of the 80s here! It loses steam with the ballads at the end but I don't mind. Miss Jackson shoots and scores a perfect...3rd album. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 4 - TV Girl: French Exit (2014) Lovers Rock is hauntingly beautiful and so are many other songs on this recent classic. Well for some people it's classic. For me the singing is too lowkey for some of the more rhythmic songs. Ig idc for the "I don't care" vocal approach. But it aight. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 3 - Fela Kuti & Africa 70: Expensive Shit (1975) Very short album but very memorable, and not just because of the title and cover. Dunno when I'll come back to it, but it feels like one of those albums that slowly creeps on you over time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 2 - Deep Purple: Machine Head (1972) The riffs on this album undeniably MASSIVE. Even old women who died the year before this album released know "Smoke on the Water". Now if only this band was writing lyrics and I'd like em more. Still rips. Perfect turn ur brain off album. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
