The Pentagon character was created to be the heel foil for popular technico luchador Octagon (both had martial arts gimmicks and the shape of their name on their mask). Pentagon Jr. (often shorted to "Penta") is a continuation of the gimmick (though the "martial arts" part has been depreciated).
