powered by coffee and music... and sometimes snark, but that's probably because I need more coffee; music therapist living in north AL; love football (roll tide/who dat), New Orleans, snow in winter, gardening, being the "weird mom" to my amazing trans son
Out for a walk this evening with the kid when this hawk swooped over us and landed on the power lines overhead.
Took me all afternoon of checking before it finally appeared! I texted the pic to my neighbor down the street to let her know there might be a pot of gold in her backyard. 😜
But look-- I may have cheated on the crust, but I grew the tomatoes and basil!
Anyone else still terribly afraid of these canisters? Just me? 😂
Rainbows actually occur pretty frequently in the summer here with the pop-up afternoon showers. Goodness knows we need the random reminders of hope.
Introverted Steph needed extra motivation (okokok, it's a bribe) to do marketing visits this morning. Side note: the local beer joints that double as coffeeshops know what they're doing! #needmorecoffee #shoplocal
Had to harvest before it got too hot, and we still melted. 😂. Our peach tree only has 14 peaches this year. Had to start over with zucchini (bugs, ugh) so none of those yet. Beans will be ready soon!
A week ago I was drinking coffee in multiple Mediterranean countries with very limited Internet access. I miss that.
Achievement unlocked: international travel (and voting if they pass that blasted SAVE Act).
Side quest: finished at the passport office (they'll call when it's ready for pickup hallelujah) so rewarding myself with NOLA coffee and air conditioning. Beignet will be for later. Humidity here is more than I'm used to, gracious, I'm melting!
Passport update: Phase One complete, birth certificate acquired. Bonus-- the records office is across the street from where my team plays! #whodat
Blueberries! About 2 weeks ahead of schedule this year. We had a long and early-ish spring.
Cat yoga Friday pose: use your back paw as a headrest for your lunchtime nap.
1) pretty rose 2) tomato jungle (this is 2 plants, planted ~month ago) 3) more dahlias bloomed
Our dog's name was Dahlia, so we planted a few of these to remember her.
Yes, I make coffee ice cubes in the shape of hearts. The rest of you are heathens. 😜😂.
And music. Currently the top hits from 1988 are playing...
This momma bunny decided our new bed for grapes was a great spot to have her babies. Hubby checked and the littles look to be very new, which gives us time to put bunny fencing around our freshly planted veggies.
Garden update: the robins built this nest in a day, so I guess we'll have to delay the house painting project for a bit. 😂. The bushes (autumn sage and mock orange) were planted this past fall, so I'm pleasantly surprised they're blooming already! #gardening
