Fascism comes from misogyny as much (or more!) as it comes from racism. The fascists themselves have been clear about this for a century. So yeah, one expects stupid trans bigotry from fascists, but those on the left who repeat such things are either closet fascists, or unwitting fascist enablers.
I don't have an issue with their findings, which seem reasonable and well-qualified. But zoomed out, the drop in 2007 appears to be the continuation of much longer trend that was very briefly stalled prior to 2007. So it seems clear there is something (many things?) besides cell phones at work.
The inflection point in 2007 is clearly visible in the data, but also seems to be the end of a brief pause in an otherwise consistent trend. So as the paper says, phones are part of the story, but not the whole story. And haven't we wanted lower teen birth rates? Maybe we should celebrate phones!

#NoKings in small town Texas. A thousand people, more or less, with almost every car honking and giving thumbs-up.
