I love doing the GOTY and Console Ep art for @intothecast.bsky.social for many reasons, but mostly because I love sharing the process over time. Took a moment to reflect on my favorite drawings so far.

The episode art for the GameCube premiere. This was a case where I had very limited time so went for a simpler style and I think it paid off! Iconic characters in cubes with GameCube equipment scattered around

The PSP premiere art. This was a fun one, I based the layout off the box art for Dissidia. Iconic characters from the PSP library in a diagonal line, leaving half for negative space and the title. I also gave every character a PSP to play in their own way. I especially like Kratos’ face here.

The Vita art! This was obviously based off the promo art for Persona 4 Golden. Everyone triumphantly posed around Yu from P4 holding a Vita with a smug expression. It was hard to figure out who the faces of the Vita are, but this is as close as you get I think.

GOTY art from 2022. Iconic characters from our favorite games that year around the fire place. I often run out of time for backgrounds, but I love the setting here, and the lighting as well. One day I’ll one-up this one, just watch me!

For those playing along our upcoming PS1 episode: we’ve decided to swap out LSD: Dream Emulator for Spyro the Dragon (a great sentence). LSD is a cool and weird game but we were unable to find a solid way to play it. Spyro also felt iconic and important enough to include, so he’s officially here!
