Unrelatedly these news articles make me feel like I’m going insane. Bluesky caption, inline link card headline, article headline, first paragraph and second paragraph ALL SAY THE SAME FUCKING THING. You need to read THE SAME INFORMATION FIVE FUCKING TIMES before you learn anything about the story.

Two years ago when I grew my plants got to be 9 feet tall. For reference, this is what *those* plants looked like on June 20th, 2024.
Anyway, if you do go the NAS way, I used Claude to build a homebridge plugin that can make Linux boxes show up as controllable switches in HomeKit, with state monitoring, so you can switch them on & off from your phone. Might be useful.
