The lack of attention @angieforfl.bsky.social is getting in the Florida race is a crime. But she's a Black woman and an actual Floridian so it isn't unexpected. The Dems still don't seem to grasp that Florida is a real place with people who deserve better than to be seen as the help, at best.

If not for a conscientious therapist this story could be so much more tragic than it already is. Sports books are no better than the bar room bookies with leg breakers on call of the past.

Good on IBEW 614 calling out PECO's sexist proposal. Solidarity shouldn't know gender or sex (outside of making sure everyone's at the table and on equal footing).

Peco's latest offer, according to Larry Anastasi, president and business manager of IBEW Local 614, would give call center workers a lower wage increase than the rest of the union members. According to the union, 98% of call center workers are women.
"We will not accept a contract that undercuts the women of our union," Anastasi said in a
statement.
The company's current offer, the union said, would bring an average annual wage increase of 3.5% for non-call center workers, between 2027 and 2031. Call center workers would receive 3% annual wage increases in the same time frame.
To Anastasi, that is unacceptable.

Sounds like Winkelman was doing good in the face of a broken and immoral system. The death penalty is morally repugnant and should be opposed at every turn. Judges hate anyone who challenges their authority to murder people under the cover of the law.

A panel of federal judges found that Nancy Winkelman was complicit in efforts to mislead a federal judge while seeking to overturn the death sentence of a man convicted of killing an East Mount Airy couple in the 198os and allow him to serve life in prison instead. The ruling, made public this week, adds to the mounting judicial scrutiny of post-conviction work in Krasner's office.

Holy Mother of God (prayerful). Redemption and reform is always possible; as DeWine is showing now. Age is no excuse for not learning and bettering yourself. The death penalty is wrong, morally and functionally. Murder is never right.

DeWine, who faces a term limit in December, said he felt compelled to share his observations now, having had 50 years of experience with the issue from the time he was a young county prosecutor, through being a congressman and U.S. senator, and then serving as Ohio's attorney general. Peak carbrain. Apparently convenient parking is more important than preventing DHS from throwing protesters underneath semi-trucks.

This feels a little targeted in light of the Reactionary Trad Caths telling the Pope to mind his own business. It's a shame their minds are closed.

Therefore, when the dignity of our brothers and sisters is violated, when politics fails to address the tragedies of humanity, when the economy turns against the person or science oversteps the limits of its competence, the Church - together with other Christian denominations and believers of other religions — must make her voice heard, not in order to dominate, but to promote communion.

Calling Magnifica Humanitas "The AI Encyclical" is like calling Pope Leo XIV "the White Sox Pope". It obfuscates the truth beyond that one fact. This section is an explicit reminder that the duty of gov't is to care for people and charities should be for emergencies, not the norm.

This closeness does not stem from an intent to supplant civil institutions, much less from an implicit criticism of their work. Rather, it stems from evangelical charity, which impels the Church to draw near to the wounds of
humanity whenever they surface with greater severity. When the Church intervenes, she does so following the example of the Good Samaritan, with discretion and closeness, aware that what arises from urgent necessity cannot become the norm, nor replace the institutional responsibilities proper to the civil community.

"The factual errors are also unsurprising, given your histories of adhering to wholly repudiated, counterfactual and unscientific election denialism, climate change denialism, and the like.
"Law matters. Facts matter," Krasner wrote.
"I can only hope they will start to register in your careers, especially as they relate to this supposed oversight of far more qualified law enforcement personnel whose goal is to serve the public rather than to serve themselves."

Uber knows the tax would be DOA in Harrisburg. This is a bad faith tactic by Uber to cut the people of Philadelphia out of the decision. Uber is a luxury most often used by those with disposable income. An extra buck a ride is nothing to the individual, but everything to Philly schools.

The plan - which would require approval from the state, not Council - appears to have some traction in both City Hall and in Harrisburg, where, the sources said, lawmakers are examining whether a hike of the existing tax could raise the revenue the school district needs to avoid some of its
more than 300 planned staff cuts.

Even the Society of Human Resource Managers is pointing out that we've gotta do something about the lack of entry level jobs. And they have the data. Too bad they won't take the stance that executives are merely using AI as justification to do what they always do. Cut labor to the bone.

As long as the primary way people interact with the NFL is via gambling (including fantasy!) this is always going to be a problem. All folks care about is how a players look on boxscores, not how teams function or perform. Especially "small market" teams like the Jags who don't get tons of coverage

But the recent firestorm of Hunter and his 2026 usage isn't disrespect. It has past the point of ignorance, even. At this point, it is people outside Jacksonville clearly and plainly telling us one thing: they do not actually care what the Jaguars are doing with Travis Hunter.

Best part of this article is knowing that Tom Coughlin is one year closer to being rightfully denied a spot in Canton. No matter what he did as a coach his behavior as the Jaguars EVP of Football Operations was a disgrace. Who else has gotten their franchise blackballed by the NFLPA?
