On Le Mans hyperpole day, I've just received my Porsche 917LM #slotcar, a model of the car that took pole position at Le Mans in 1969. Le Mans Miniatures have done a great job. The detail and finish are superb. A lovely addition to my collection 😍

Lotus founder Colin Chapman was born on this day in 1928. A legendary team boss & innovator in #F1, Chapman will also be remembered for his iconic on track cap celebration whenever #TeamLotus won a race...which happened often, back in the 1960's & 1970's. 🏁🏆

Former #TeamLotus driver Elio de Angelis sadly lost his life on this day in 1986. As a Lotus fan, I'll always remember watching him start from pole position at Brands Hatch in 1983. A talented driver, not as quick as Senna (nobody was) but he had the beating of Nigel Mansell when they were teammates
