I finally got around to reading this article about "if only" erotica and it's 🔥🔥🔥 I feel like the below could also apply to way a lot of queer books are marketed and how sometimes the marketing (which I wouldn't blame on authors in the trad sphere) can feel almost gleefully misleading

2. Tomson Highway's Kiss of the Fur Queen, which nearly made me cry in a crowded restaurant. This one's a fictionalized account of Highway's life, told with the beauty of magical realism. It recounts the divergent paths taken by two Cree brothers in the aftermath of abuse in a residential school

First I'd like to recommend two of my Pride reads from this month: Cat Rector's Coal Gets in Your Veins-- an expertly written paranormal vampire romance that sinks its fangs much deeper than the genre typically does, and to impactful effect!

And I also quite like this one for a TETK prequel I'd somehow thought I would write and release last Fall 🤣 No book exists to go with this one (yet--I have a lot of ideas and a plot, etc), but I'm pretty happy with the video.

Probably one of the trailers I'm most proud of is the one for Breadcrumbs on a Forest Floor!

Here's one I made for So Sing the Barrows. Publication date . . . who knows. I do want to release it, but I just keep feeling like it needs more work and also I think I should make another cover and that's stressful in its own way. I'd originally been planning to release it in time for SPFBOX

And another one for Ashtaroth--I was just super happy with the timing in this one (with the *song* song ones, they were kind of dependent on serendipity, because I'd make the video, then upload to TikTok & add the music--great when it works out!)

This was my first long trailer for any book (maybe my first trailer??). I'm still very happy with it. I'll post the version with a *song* song as I tend to use the instrumental one more often. The timing isn't as good as the instrumental version, which I could control, but still fun.

A summer horror one because . . . seasonal 🤣

This one was mostly me playing around to see if I could something like what I'd imagined a TV show opening for TETK being like (song + hole that then the camera kind of tumbles inside, etc)

Another one for TETK! This was the first "long" and not totally crappy trailer I made for the book. 🤣 I'd for sure make it differently now, but I'm still happy with most of it and I think it captures the combo of camp + horror + texture I was going for with the book.
