I really love the design of this elf sorcerer, but adding the magic spell effect back in post-painting scraped up some of the main dude’s paint. So there will need to be some touch-ups once I’m sure the super glue has dried. #ttrpg #dnd #dungeonsanddragons

Ditto for these guys. The tabaxi rogue was a super simple job where I let the bulk oil do most of the work. Mr. 2-axes was much trickier. A lot of detail and different shapes in awkward positioning. Not entirely happy with him, but he’ll do. Trying to get better about just letting them “good enough”

This dwarf and monk have been camping out in my “to be finished” box for awhile so I knocked them out too. Still need to do a little something to spruce up their bases.

Went on a bit of a #minipainting spree this afternoon, starting with this lady. She’ll be the centerpiece of a #ConantheBarbarin inspired picture-frame diorama I’ve been planning. Just need to buy a small chain for her wrists, since she came shackle-less!

Found a woodsy-looking frame at Goodwill and decided to try making a mini diorama out of it, inspired by the Lost Woods in #Zelda - A Link to the Past. I’m pleased with end results, but it was still definitely a learning project. I would do some things different with a 2nd attempt. #snes #nintendo

Achieved a minor long term goal and finished #FireEmblem Genealogy of the Holy War. I can remember about it ages ago in the Epic Center feature in #NintendoPower. I used to draw the copies of the character art they printed when I was a kid.

Finally got my Ocarina of Time display hung up! I wasn’t sure at first if I wanted to maybe make some more adjustments. Kudos to my wife for suggesting I wait a bit and see if i was still dissatisfied after some time had passed. It did turn out really well , I think. #nintendo #zelda

Consider me sold on airbrushing! Even if I only ever use it for base coating, it will save me a ton of time. I got these guys done in maybe 20 min once I got the hang of it? Would have taken me an hour+ with a brush. Gonna try using it to do up my squad of mind flayers next. #dnd #ttrpg #minis

Done! Been working for the past couple weeks to repurpose my gold Ocarina of Time cartridge into a small-scale art piece. It’s not perfect, but I’m happy with the results. Made primarily w/ a cheap shadow box frame, XPS foam, and acrylic paint. #zelda #n64 #ocarinaoftime #retrogames #nintendo

Painting is largely done and all the little bits and pieces are in, but now we have problems. As I feared, the OoT cartridge looks a bit crooked, as does the Zora Sapphire. I need to make some adjustments and make some extra pieces to kind of wall in the cartridge once it’s in. #n64 #zelda

So what I did was buy a cheap spider toy from an evil corporation and paint it up in the style of smaller “giant” spiders I did a few years back. Very happy with how my “Queen Spider” turned out. (Finished spider on the left with a smaller coworker. Original on right)

I’m not saying my next my next #DnD game will involve giant spiders… but I’m also NOT saying it won’t. #ttrpg #minipainting
