Had an unfortunate incident watching the eclipse. Put down my special eclipse glasses, tucked them behind me, under the cushion I was sitting on, on the grass, when we were accosted by a young nosey cow, who proceeded to steal and eat my special eclipse glasses. #Eclipse #SpeirGhorm
All set up for the Eclipse! Except it's so cloudy in Dingle, I don't even know oe where the sun is at the moment. #SpeirGhorm #Eclipse
I don't have a dryer, no space for it in my tiny galley kitchen, so I fitted an overhead airer above the stairs. If you don't have stairs, you can use a hallway. Highly recommend! Took ages to find someone who'd fit it well, but it's been there over 12 years now, and still works great.
In case anyone has any leads, this is what I'm looking for. It's for drying clothes flat. Can't find 1 shop in Ireland or Europe, that sells it online, dont want to order from Amazon, UK or China. For a student who's getting into handmade but struggles with space, drying handknits flat #SpéirGhorm
Any music platform worth their salt should be banning AI music altogether. It's bad enough that you make millions profiteering off the sweat and blood of musicians with little return, but to profit off AI shysters, is another level of dystopia.
I'll be revealing my woolly nerd side tomorrow, showing off some of my textile tools and books in the sustainability section of the Castlegregory Agricultural Show tomorrow. If you're into sustainable textiles and/or heritage tools, call by the Fibreshed Ireland stall and say hello.

The current Irish government saying they are making a difference on housing.... #SpéirGhorm
I remember, as a wee sprog, seeing a giant Gulliver on Dollymount strand. It's one of those vague memories from childhood, that you aren't sure half the time if it's was a memory or dream, but I just found photographic proof from Macnas FB. Phew!
Am wrecked, but emotionally happy after what was an amazing Feile na Bealtaine weekend. I've become so crap at taking pics and videos these days, but here's a snippet of Sundays fantastic parade. #FeileNaBealtaine
This absolutely cheered me up this morning, if you like bees and flowers, it might cheer you up too 🐝🌼 One of my favourite critters on one of my favourite flowers. #IrishWildlife
I was not expecting to be on the 'anti-ai ai haters' block list, but it turns out I am. Wanna see if you are too? Can you see @why.bsky.team's feed? Yes, not blocked, no, blocked. Looks like this BlueSky bloke he's blocked half of Bluesky! Which just reminds me, I need to move to @eurosky.social.
Insta post from our local garage. I love a good protest, but we are now out of fuel. Who does it affect more now? Busy farmers, fishermen, hauliers, local food producers, yes, but elderly, sick, carers, disabled, child minders, working class, and all the women who run everything around here.
Spent the day volunteering at the European Wool Day Conference and Fringe event, in Tralee. It was busy! Farmers, makers, fleece to fibre, crafts and tools, all under one roof. Only got it together to take one photo 🙄, from the Kerry County Museum stand. (Too busy chatting). #EuropeanWoolDay
I don't have a lot of red clothes, so I'm making a special red hat, to wear for Wear Red Day next Friday 20th March 2026 Why? Because racism gets a red card. 🟥 #wrd26 #ShowRacismTheRedCard #SpéirGhorm

Last day to register for the Seanad, if you aren't on the list already. There's some feckers in there that desperately need voting out. www.seanadvoter.ie #Seanad #SpeirGhorm
Crafty/heritage/textile folk, there's a symposium in Limerick next Saturday for anyone interested in historical and/or modern lacemaking traditions. limericklace.ie/2026/01/27/t... #SpeirGhorm #IrishCrafts #Lace
None of ye have mentioned this classic, The Seventh Stream. He was a poor widowed fisherman, her, a mysterious beauty from the sea... Im a run down old village, where the people were starving, but there were seals... and love...
I'm not on Spotify any more (🇵🇸), so, this is my exciting app unwrapping experience of 2025. 🙄 Milk, eggs, fruit & veg are my top buys, and I like shopping in the quiet hours. #2025Wrapped #Lidl
Hup the Goat Street Wren (and the Dreoílin Cúilín) #CorcaDhuibhne #Dingle
Janey mac, ye like the trivial pursuits pic! So here's our Xmas nite game, its called Fleeced, sheep rustling game w Wallace and Gromit, and Sean the Sheep characters. Great craic after a few 🍹 #SpeirGhorm #GamesNight #WallaceAndGromit
Christmas eve games, playing an old Trivial Pursuits, and the kid is like, "whose noddy?" and "what's a fax machine?" 😳😭 #speirghorm #FeelingOld
Just had a circular conversation with my elderly mother, who thought Christmas was on Friday, and I kept telling her she's wrong, it's Wednesday. Had to Google it to prove I was right, but alas, we were both wrong. 😳 At least I can blame my calendar. #ChristmasFail
If you are heading to the 🇵🇸 fundraising gig in the INEC this evening, bring some cash. There's a stall selling crafts, including this gorgeous purse, hand embroidered by a women's collective in Palestine, and keyrings fresh off the hooks from Kerry. @ipsc.bsky.social #FreePalestine #SpeirGhorm
Disgusting. Fianna Fail, Sinn Fail and Fail Gael, all voted for foxhunting, despite 70% of people polled saying they were against it. This is what they think of our wildlife. Beyond cruel. @banfoxhunting.bsky.social @ruthcoppingersp.bsky.social #BanFoxhunting
Great craic at the @kneecapceol.bsky.social gig in Killarney last nite. Great set with high energy, clever visuals and lighting, and lots of 🇵🇸 chants. But, I was very surprised to see young kids there, like 7 year olds! Ok, it's safe in the seated area for them, but, is it appropriate?
Great campaign but honest confession. I don't really like the Irish flag colours. That shade of green and orange, far too flashy. Made by bolshie French women who never sat in a Irish stone cottage in February eating turnips. I'd love more earthy tones, mosses and lichens, or naturally dyed fabric.
