I realize I don't think I've ever posted my studio mural here. I call her The Strange Deity. I'm really gonna miss her when I have to move out next year

I made the parts for a stylized bug doll and thought it would be a fun contrast to put them in more traditional doll clothes

hate to push this again, but you know how it is. my husband and I are separated, and just rebuilding a room is expensive! I owe him money for helping me buy a new bed, then the optometrist took the last of my spendable money. consider leaving a tip- shit is hard and i wanna relax as soon as I can!

I've been holding myself to some rules in my new Single Guy bedroom to keep it from becoming a big depression nest, one of them being I gotta make my bed every day. It's great actually

(11/11) After that, the shoes and TV were hot glued into place, and they were done

(7/11) Then began painting- painted with acrylic paint, sealed with polycrylic. It's subtle, but each plane is a slightly different shade of red/orange (with brown on the bottom, and black side/back, of course)

(6/11) The antennas are wire with a plastic pearl bead glued to the end, and placed into a drilled hole at the top of the TV, fixed in place with UV resin

(5/11) The front panels were done individually using a sculpting epoxy. This was a 3 step process- 1 layer over the top of the plastic-wrapped screen + magnets with the dial popped on, then more epoxy to fix the screens I felt were misshapen, then one more layer to smooth it all out.

(4/11) Loved making the cords. I dyed the rubber coating with synthetic fabric dye in a candle warmer

(2/11) I didn't seem to actually take any photos of the sculpting itself, but the master was hand sculpted with polymer clay, and used to make a 2 part silicone mold, then cast in resin. These are from last March- I had to stop working on them almost immediately lol
