My son found a 6 arm cushion star on the beach. Apparently 2% of the overall population have 4,6,7 or 8 arms compared to the usual 5 arms

The Ngauranga to Petone (Ngā Ūranga ki Pito One) section of Te Ara Tupua is now open. There were so many cyclists, runners, walkers, scooters, wheelchairs on it. Loved all the uranga along the way. 250 penguin boxes installed! Amazing work from all involved.

So we went to Zealandia 2 days running, never knew you could go 2 days in a row on your normal entry. So glad we went back as we came across a giant Cook Strait Wētā on the side of the track.
We were on Raumati beach this afternoon. The water on the sand was making it into quick sand and you’d sink up to your knees just standing on it! OBut when you pulled your feet out these little shrimp came out of the sand! No idea what they are
