Finally had the weather to be able to sit out in my elderly steamer chair, (25 years + and still going strong*!) earlier in the 25° heat! *After a refurb of the mechanism from our lovely handyman guy in Manchester.

Bought this little chap as a kitsch addition to garden renovation. (Proprietor of business used had a fella like this standing on a lego lawn on his business card!) Although OH was out watering plants and the small section of newly laid turf last night, he didn't notice him! (Which is just as well!)

Lovely weekend with Steve & Matt. Dropped them at Central for their 🚆 to Euston. Home via couple of antiques places, (although 1 closed.) Also ventured southside to 🍁 Bakery in Govan, as have heard many good things about it. Walked across Govan Bridge for 1st time. Another #ScottieInTheCity spotted!
Desr friends from London visiting for the weekend. Lanterns & bunting all ready to dine outside in our newly completed garden refurb! Except Scots weather has put pay to that 🌧 So @nigella.bsky.social 's lamb with pomegranate had to be served indoors last night. As did her Arabian pancakes earlier!

Using my dust buster on the mantelpiece to clear up flower petal debris earlier. Shocked to discover a little Christmas decoration, still on display. I know I wasn't functioning properly last Christmas, due to "events", and I made minimal effort, with few decorations. This is seriously bad karma!!!
The morning after the night before…. After a sleepless night, I awoke feeling rubbish. In shell shock, which lasted for about 48 hrs. When I spoke to my father that morning I used the F word on the phone. Eternally proud of the fact my parents (80’s) voted #Remain #EURef10thAnniversary #Brexit
Just realised that 10 yrs ago today, (day of #EURef ) I was on my annual visit to lunch at @michelrouxjr.bsky.social 's much missed Le Gavroche restaurant. One of our party of 4 had her 50th birthday the next day. (What news to wake up to!) We were kindly given🥂 ! I then headed home to Manchester.
Grrr. Didn’t post yesterday. On #WindrushDay remembering all those who took up the call to help the UK recover post war. Thanks for all you did. And in particular those treated so badly by UK governments, many of whom still await compensation. Others of whom have died without receiving theirs
When you told a friend over 2 months ago you were going to be in their area, and can we meet up, (which they were delighted to do so), but latterly they have gone VERY quiet about making said arrangements. Yeah that....
