Lore (spoiler alert!)

Less of a straight "lore reveal", and more of a "mindless rambling about lore I'm trying to develop" moment today!

I've been trying to pin down a good name for the main pantheon of gods in Vitaelia. Naming, I should mention, is my least favorite part of writing. Characters, places, concepts - UGH. As much as I love wordsmithing, I put a lot of pressure on teasing out just the right moniker for things, and I'm practically never fully satisfied with what I find! Give me any name in the story, and prepare for a ten-minute rant on what isn't perfect about it.

Right now, I've been cheaping out on the pantheon. We have eight primary gods, a mother/father/children-style arrangement. They're worshipped individually and together at what I'm currently calling "Manygods" churches, but I probably don't need to give a full lecture on why that name feels too shallow.

Right now, I'm playing around with some concepts based on compass points. Each of the eight primary deities would be assigned a direction (north/south/west/east, then nw/ne/sw/se). Temples dedicated to the pantheon as a whole would have eight arched entrances and altars. From this, I'm deriving a possible name of "the Arches", where these deities would be considered arch-gods (tee hee wordplay) to distinguish themselves from the other minor deities of the world. I also like this approach considering the structural use of arches, both as gates and as supports, which feels appropriate for the role these deities play on Vitaelia.

What do yall think? Is there a better way to dress up the pantheon name?

My husband thinks I'm mean because I keep calling Zeppo here ugly-cute. I don't think he appreciates how rare and special hitting that perfect ratio of scrungly is. One of my favorite baristas is moving away. She's a bit younger and seemed sad about it, so I stole* a lil flower off one of the table arrangements and made a quick resin pendant. I hope she likes it! * with awkwardly requested and enthusiastically received permission from another barista

I thiiiink this is about complete! I had a realization that I really don't need to fully render these pieces - they're meant to be chapter illustrations, and while I like doing color for my own happiness, I'll likely only be including line art in the book itself :)

When the scarf takes so long to crochet, you can see the difference in age from the starting end vs the finishing end:

Just got some new spinning fiber after finishing my starter hank, and wow! I don't know what that first fiber was, but in comparison, this is a dream to spin. My test yarn is so much slimmer and more consistent, and I love the colors so so much! Forest Fruits carded Corriedale from CupidFalls

AHHH I AM SO PROUD LOOK AT ITTTT I finished this lil toddler cape! I've been loving this rainbow yarn from Ice yarns and found this cute plaid cape pattern to show it off. I can't wait to give it to her!

First I've been able to draw since I started my medical leave - new Vtuber concept that my brain's been cooking! Concept is an insomnia pixie/anti-Sandman, who is born anew from a chrysalis each stream. Any design pointers from my artsy pals?
