The neighbours' cattle have come over to check out the choons of @johncreedon.bsky.social that I'm enjoying out in the evening sunshine. More "summer in the country" than "summer in the city" as sung by Axtec Camera. Thanks John for those two Aztec Camera tracks, & for all the music these sunny days
I'm rarely there myself - and I just live out the road in the county. A regular medical appointment is my usual reason for popping in afterwards. Here's a photo-bombing gull & random pigeons - also taken today - to jog your memory.
It's not quite the "public toilets" as per @deshocks.bsky.social's recent appeal, (it's in a cafe)*, but a nice place to "spend a penny". (I'd bet it's a long time since some blueskyers even thought about that expression.)
Strolling in sunny Limerick City this morning, I was struck by all the "pops of colour". Flowers and trees really do make a difference to a city. #bloomscrolling #speirgorm
"Out the back", with espresso martinis made by the talented (adult!), son, enjoying the evening sunshine and the "borrowed landscape" and listening to @johncreedon.bsky.social. "Of a Wednesday!?!" #DaysLikeThis 💚
I went from watching Penelope Cruz supporting Spain in the World Cup last night to watching her on the cinema screen tonight. In a hugely entertaining film that definitely falls in the "they used to make more films like this" category. Plenty of laugh-out-loud moments & great performances. Loved it.
I'm not the biggest fan of "stadium" gigs normally, but Florence and The Machine in Thomond Park, Limerick last night was amazing. Awesome voice live. Sublime performer. Majestic. I envy those seeing her in Dublin tonight - I'd go again! #speirgorm
On a daytrip to Kilkee, Co. Clare yesterday it was like a different world to the "heatwave" in the rest of the country. Under cloud for most of the day, the temps were more like average Irish temps, and we even managed the cliff walk. Return to Limerick nightime felt way hotter than daytime Kilkee.
Ballybunion yesterday. Such a beautiful coastline. Magical, "other worldly" landscape. Maybe I should study rocks! #speirgorm
#bloomscrolling, anyone? Not the sunniest of June days around here (again), but I'm enjoying the "pops of colour" (#NoFilter, as the kids say), from the roses in our garden.
#otd On this day in 1912, Hannah Sheehy Skeffington smashed some windows in Dublin Castle "as an act of suffrage". I love this plaque at the castle for its Irish translation; "a rinne smidirini de na fuinneoga seo". One of my favourite Irish words, #speirgorm * #smidiríní *
Dont normally think of this little poem in June. But, if this morning's wind and downpours continue ... #speirgorm
'Into The White' - and the many colours of Pixies - last night at King John's Castle* in Limerick. Wonderful to celebrate 40 years of @pixiesofficial.bsky.social with a great gig in a great setting.
Thanks @dolanslimerick.bsky.social, you did it again! Bringing the best acts to Limerick. *Pixies* tonight "Live at The Castle", was a fantastic gig - and King John's Castle proved itself yet again to be a spectacular and unique music venue.
It was such a gloriously sunny day yesterday that we actually visited 3 different Co Clare beaches to walk and "take the air" (& Vit D!) Good for the body & the mind - Doughmore Beach, Whitestrand (& cliff walk), and even a quick pop into the (very busy) Lahinch. Beautiful Clare beaches #speirgorm
As to be expected when we've a rare hot & sunny spell, my feed is full of Irish people 'not wanting to be at work' today. This clip is not meant to "rub any noses in it', it is shared as a *timeline cleanse*. A 15 second clip from Doughmore Beach, Clare yesterday. Sound on, & breathe ..🌞 #speirgorm
I know "one swallow doesn't make a summer" (especially here in Ireland), but, what if it's two?!? Hanging around on my clothesline on a Sunday morning. Made my morning, anyway. #speirgorm
Samantha Libreri, reporting on the Dublin #ByElection on @news.rte.ie this lunchtime, is so professional that she matched her outfit with the "Polling Station" sign. #speirgorm
Above is my favourite pic of James, and I also love this one with Frank Capra (& dog);
We're sitting in the parked car watching it bucketing down, & the dog's very unhappy about not being able to start our walk!
I love those little "lost in translation" things spotted when travelling. Was sent this today by my son from his holidays;
