Theo was a college sophomore when he experienced a helmeted ski accident that put him in a coma for 5 days. The accident left him with an acquired brain injury(ABI), disrupting his memory & attention. That summer, he joined BU's ICCR Program with the goal of returning to college.

After Daniel Marcelo's stroke, his wife discovered Dr. Kiran and CBR's work. That same week, she wrote to Dr. Kiran about his condition and heard back from her the next day. Soon after, Daniel participated in language therapy at CBR as part of one of our randomized, controlled clinic trials.
