DELTARUNE - CHAPTERS 3 AND 4 While Chapter 3 has Tenna (one of my favorite characters), Chapter 4 is my favorite so far. A deeply stressful examination of the weight religion puts on young people. How that ties into the prophecy as a metaphor for reaching "the promised land" is heavy as hell.
MARIO GOLF SUPER RUSH Quick question – how do you say "this is the worst game in the series because it tried to do something different and none of the new ideas are good" without the stank of fanboy on you?
CHARLOTTE SANDS - SATELLITE I have a soft spot for "melancholic pop music with a synthetic metal slant" so this hit my inner 16 year old hard. I could imagine someone making a bunch of Homura Akemi AMVs to this album, so if that's your thing you should check it out!
Capcom's level designers are getting real lazy. Orange triangles? I took a Game Design course in high school and they said this was bad.
DELTARUNE - CHAPTER 1 It seems like a good idea to separate these by release. The first chapter of Deltarune is, by all counts, the first 5 hours of an epic RPG. "Here's the new game, this is what it's like, stay tuned!" It's hardly a step up from Undertale, but has lots of room to grow from here.
THE MARTIAN Matt Damon always puts on a great performance, but its human core doesn't hit as hard as it could and I can take or leave the other characters in the team. I enjoyed going back to this, but - while good in it's own right - it mostly deepened my appreciation for Project Hail Mary.
I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST SCREAM I have a stomach for cruelty in fiction but the original short story pushed my limits. While not the best in its genre, the graphic adventure expands on the concept by giving each of the survivors their own section—contributing to the misery mire in their own way.
MARIO GOLF ADVANCE TOUR On one hand, doubles are a nightmare, unlockables work weirdly, and the side content isn't that compelling. On the other hand... This is a SPORTS game, man. Nobody did it quite like Camelot at their peak.
THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS Pretty good show. It's the kind of series that, if it came out 10 years ago it'd be on Adult Swim, but now it's on YouTube. I'm not 100% sold on its worldbuilding, the character writing gets heavy handed in the last act, but I'm happy that programs like this can exist.
NEONCITY HITS - NEONCITY RECORDS Pretty good tunes if you're at the end of an educational video in the mid-2010s.
FORD V FERRARI This is the exact kind of movie that Hollywood loves - a historical, American story about fast cars, perseverance, teamwork and a loving friendship between two very different people. Sometimes Hollywood is right.
THE IRON MAN This book kinda sucks, but I was stuck at the car mechanic for like 4 hours so maybe that changes things.
CHIPDISC FUSION (VOL. 1-3) Great trilogy if you're stuck at the car mechanic!
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA - THE MISSING LINK This romhack perfectly captures the feel of N64 era Zelda, and the hourglass is a really cool item. It could have done with less soft locks, though.
STEAM NEXT FEST - JUNE 2026 Favorites: Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II Project Turbo Blast
MIRAGE FEATHERS This feels like one of those arcade games you'd pick up for $5 on the PlayStation Vita in 2015. It's simplistic bullet hell gameplay, saturated visuals, and low budget gives the game it's own charm — Even if it's only worth one or two playthroughs.
OBSESSION Inde Navarrette does such a delicate dance with Nikki's character that you're never 100% sure what she's thinking or doing. Michael Johnston keeps fucking around, playing God and finding out.
A GIRL LIKE HER Killing myself in front of the bully to change the course of her life (not dead jk lol)
GOLDEN DRAGON FANTASY GAME BOOK: CASTLE OF LOST SOULS Pretty neat solo dungeon crawler system. It has some questionable design quirks (like how a high Vigor stat makes you easier to kill in that blizzard room), but I can see why RPG fans liked these little paper bounds in their day.
007 First Light I compare First Light to Arkham Asylum in that all the concessions the game makes are towards the game's ultimate goal - make the player feel like James Bond. IOI succeeded in that endeavor, even if this is a step down from World of Assassination.
