UNSC OD | In an international context marked by conflict proliferation & erosion of trust, the UNSC is too often called to act only after violence has erupted. 🇨🇭 actively supports the UNSG’s mandate to offer good offices & continues to make #Geneva available for peace talks.
Int’l law, including #IHL, must be firmly anchored in the work of the new Global Mechanism on cybersecurity. At yesterday’s 1st substantive plenary,🇨🇭delivered a joint statement on behalf of a cross-regional group of 35 States, proposing several concrete areas for discussion.
Clarifying the fate of missing persons in 🇸🇾 is essential for a lasting peace.🇨🇭 welcomes the progress achieved by the #IIMP and encourages deeper cooperation w/ the Nat’l Commission for Missing Persons, relevant authorities, specialized int’l institutions & civil society orgs.
We welcome the consensus adoption of the Operational Activities for Development (OAS) res. facilitated by🇨🇭. We look forward to continuing to work with Member States on the coordination, guidance, and reform of the United Nations development system.
At yesterday’s UNSC Arria-formula meeting on missing persons in🇸🇾,🇨🇭spoke on behalf of members of the #GlobalAllianceForTheMissing and stressed 3 priorities: inclusivity & non-discrimination, scientific rigor in investigations, and sustained political will.
🇨🇭welcomes the adoption of the #HLPF2026 Ministerial Declaration under the auspices of ECOSOC and continues to support the implementation of the #2030Agenda & advancement of the #SDGs.
At the #HLPF2026 General Debate, Switzerland advocated for a stronger localization of the Sustainable Development Goals, the identification of high-impact levers that can improve implementation of the 2030 Agenda, and an effective multilateralism.
#HLPF2026 | Yesterday, 🇨🇭 presented its Voluntary National Review (VNR) on the #2030Agenda. Our delegation underscored that sustainable development is a shared responsibility across all levels of government, sectors & society and that a multi-stakeholder approach is crucial.

At UN Security Council Open Debate on conflict-related sexual violence,🇨🇭emphasized: - Respect for international law is crucial; need to fight impunity - Survivors must remain at the center - Support to the UN’s Special Representative
At #HLPF event on Financing Water for People, Food & the Planet at Scale,🇨🇭 affirmed its support for country-led Water Compacts combining reforms, institutions & investments. We must now ensure these investments improve access to💧& sanitation for all, in urban & rural areas.
Today,🇨🇭presented its progress on #SDG7 (Affordable & Clean Energy) at HLPF, noting that since 2000, per-capita energy consumption has been reduced by 43% & renewable energy now covers nearly 1/3 of final consumption. 🇨🇭remains committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
At the annual Responsibility to Protect (#R2P) debate,🇨🇭called for robust early warning and prevention measures, accountability for crimes committed, restraint in veto use & human oversight of emerging tech. Our response must be collective, decisive & grounded in int’l law.
Bilateral meeting today between lnt’l Peace Institute President Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein and Amb. Grütter, discussing cooperation between🇨🇭& IPI as well as the state of multilateralism and the dynamics at the UN.

UNRWA Pledging Conference |🇨🇭has allocated CHF 10 million this year to support UNRWA programmes in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, and specialists to strengthen the Agency’s work.

Yesterday,🇨🇭provided opening remarks at the stock-taking session of the Global CSO-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding during #PeacebuildingWeek2026. 🇨🇭supported UN Peacebuilding in bringing together civil society, UN & Member States to assess the progress since the 2025 Geneva Dialogue.
🇨🇭 welcomes the Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS, “United to End AIDS by 2030.” A human rights and evidence based HIV/AIDS response, with strong community leadership, is essential. Together, let’s turn commitments into action.
