One of the problems with the Nordic model is that it encourages police to surveil sex workers. Sex workers dont need state surveillance, they need safety.
Went out and had some fun at Juneteenth events. I assume everyone here was well behaved and normal yesterday?
Glad @nicolerprause.bsky.social is following the fap movement. However, sad to learn that men are sending minors in no fap spaces nudes, and the moderator's response is basically arguing they can't do anything about it.
Hate having to keep dispelling this myth but Sex workers absolutely have a right to say no to clients. Denying them this fact and bodily autonomy only promotes rape culture and emboldens sexual predators. #SexWorkIsWork #RightsNotRescue
People ask why we prefer Bluesky. Because we're less likely to encounter BS like this:
We end up with systems that treat arrest as intervention, confuse surveillance with protection, accept family separation and incarceration as "unfortunate but necessary" Without sex workers, feminism loses the ability to recognize when “help” is coercion, or who pays the price.
This week, we follow the money into the nonprofit rescue economy: After arrests and court dates, another industry steps in - one that often mirrors policing rather than replacing it. The result isn’t healing. It’s control, compliance, and continued harm. #FollowTheMoney #HumanTrafficking

Today is #GivingTuesday, and we are asking for your help. We rely on donations to maintain our 24/7 hotline, re-entry bags, and a pen pal program for the currently incarcerated. We are able to do this work because someone like you helped fund this mission. www.swopbehindbars.org/donate
Carceral feminism won't save us. Relying on police, surveillance and courts won't keep our communities safe. We need community-based solutions for safety, and we need them now.
