The Marvel treasure token is a reference to the fact that in his first appearance in FF#5 Doctor Doom sends the Fantastic Four back in time to steal from Black Beard’s treasure. Also the legends about Black Beard are actually about The Thing pretending to be a pirate. Comics are very serious.

This is really great flavor because by taking control of two creatures you can make them act completely out of character, just like everyone in this comic. Now I can be a hater in two forms of media!
