Paleoartist focusing on synapsids, including mammals. I make both 2D and 3D art. Sometimes sweary, always actively hostile towards plagiarism algorithms. She/her
*angelic choirs intensify* It works, it works, it works, it woooooooorks :D
Cloud studies as light/colour practice, and because I suck at clouds. Also, apparently, I can't draw a single vertical line without a slant.
New sketchbook doodles. I really like it, the paper is so nice, I was pleasantly surprised when I got it. Also, the pages are sort of yellowish cream colour. Also also, I really love the purple and read leads, and I've already decided I'm going to get refills of those. #SciArt
So, like, at what point do they realise that they are, in fact, the bad guys here? Like, you'd think that "oh, we're starting a war to bring about the apocalypse" would be enough, right? You have no leg to stand on when it comes to talking about religious extremism and terrorism, bc wtf is this?
Ok, but what if ancestrally furry dicynodonts? And therefore a scraggly Lisowicia?? There is a possible Permian hair in gorgonopsid(iirc) coprolite, so... Maybe? Also: i is pronounced like English e, w like v, and c is a "ts" hissy sound. #Sciart #art #animalart #extinct
So, I'm kind of looking for a bag, and... It has glow in the dark eyes. It's too small for me, but I wasn't expecting a row of toads when I opened the tab.
Warm up doodles. Started as planar analysis (which I suck at and should do more of), but then I decided to transform them into sketches. The bear is my favourite, I think, even though it broke my brain a little, for some reason. #Sciart
If anyone's interested, I'm open to take on a few commissions. Right now, I'm mostly open to pet portraits and paintings of mammals/ synapsids close to mammals, but I won't t rule other synapsids out, depending on what reference material is available. DM me if interested. #commissions #bsnm #sciart
Progress is being made, but I'm going to have a lot of clean up to do. I also vacuumed the canvas twice already, and it's still covered in tiny specks that just refuse to leave. I also never thought that vacuuming a painting is something I'd ever do. #wip
In a shocking turn of events, I'm actually doing the thing. This one's going to be a real case of "trust the process". Also the moon isn't going to be red, I haven't completely lost my mind, it's getting metal leafed.
Ok, so technology confuses me today. It's the same exact file, just the right is viewed in krita, and the left in the image viewer. The thumbnail also looks like the image viewer one. It shows on my phone like it does in krita. So like, what???
And also, as a distraction, I've FINALLY decided to start working on this ginormous canvas I've been sitting on for, I think, over 10 years. Naturally I decided that it's the perfect opportunity to experiment with a lot of stuff I've never done before. What could go wrong? #WIP
Yelling foxes are my go to when I'm feeling overwhelmed, so here's today's warm up. I kind of like it, I may make it into a full painting at some point. Without the waaa though, probably, because I have no idea how to incorporate that in a way that makes sense. Could be a good challenge though.
A bunch of random colour/texture studies. I still can't figure out the thing I'm after, and it's annoying me greatly. But at least I got some practice in, so that's good.
I've decided to make a series of paintings of conservation success stories, starting with this here żubr/ wisent/ European bison. They were almost driven to extinction in the early XX century, and the current population is descended from about 17 animals, thanks to the efforts of prof. Jan Sztolcman
The world sucks, so here's a colour study of an elusive water potato I did on Monday, for your viewing pleasure Proportions are a bit wonky, but it's been a long while since I was grinning this much while painting something #Sciart
The moon is very round tonight. And also weirdly yellow, especially when it was rising. I guess it can go into #sciart
Boy do I love to live in Normal Country (TM) Send a photo of your face and/or id to every site you're using to "protect the children!!!!!!11111!!!!!!"
I had an idea for a Homotherium portrait. Not sure how successful it was, I still have a tendency to overwork stuff. But here it is anyway, I had to stop working on this thing at some point. #SciArt #paleoart #art #animalart
