Hi there! I'm a pesudo-artistic introverted comic/manga, tokusatsu, and puroresu-loving manweeb, husband and dad known as t0ne. i also draw things from time to time.
I saw the wildest shit last week. I have been watching part one & two on YouTube for the last couple days since I've seen this vid I'm hooked It's low-key kind of based. This dude made sesame Street "blood in blood out"!
did a thing. Recently Went to see Mobile Suit Gundam : Hathaway's Flash - Nymph of Circe. i really enjoyed it; however the whole time this is all i could think of. The virgin mafty and the Chad sleg #gundamhathaway
Now some of you may be asking, "did you really just work on this kitbash in order to have a tiny amuro ray in a working cockpit?" Yes. You bet your ass i did. Look at him. He's cool af. I cant wait to finish this.
next, came one of the more important pieces of this build; the pilot! the micro wars series has tiny lil 1/60 scale pilots for their mechs, and of course, there's a tiny CCA Amuro Ray! .....it was HELL painting him, i STG. but man, he looks so good.
so far, the torso is a bit disproportionate to the limbs, so i'm going to have to mod things abit. i had to retro-fit the Gen-F backpack to the MW torso already since the backpegs had to be trimmed to fit it. no drilling here as it could compromise the cockpit.
Gunpla WIP Build Progress Journal: SD/MW Nu/V Gundam Custom. Three kits. 1. SD Generation-F V/Nu Gundam kit. 2. Shokugan Mobile Suit Micro Wars V/Nu Gundam kit. 3. SD-EX Nu Gundam what happens when you Kitbash the hell out of all 3 to make 1 kit? ADHD & my small hobby budget led me to this:
for guns, i chose the HeavyWeaponSystems/HWS MOP-007 "Handheld Beam Cannons". from etsy. together with the jet hammer, painted, they look great.
Next was picking out the Grim-Bine's arsenal. for melee, i picked up the the Phoenix 3D Printing A-14 Universal Jet Hammer set.
after recently acquiring acrylic paint markers for another build, i brought this build back to life. i also picked up the 30 minute missions customize material #4 Kit (cyber effect/ multi joint) and gave him wings!
Gunpla WIP Progress Journal: Aura Battler Grim-bine. 8 years ago, i messed around with a couple of gundam kits after seeing a reddit kitbash post & got an idea. it's made of the Head of a G:Reco Grimoire, body and arms of a IBO Manrodi, & the legs of IBO Gundam Kimaris. The horn is scratchbuilt.
Wally's really well sculpted by my god his legs are long af. Comes with 3 pairs of hands and a very poseable body, (well done MacFarlane toys, you broke the curse.) But he needs accessories, and I think next move is to get him lightning effect pieces. Pretty awesome figure.
Picked up a MacFarlane JLA Flash from target a few weeks ago on clearance. Always wanted a flash figure, never got one. Dunno why. Afaik I think this is the wally west "mark waid" flash. i say that because he doesn't seem to have any pupils in costume and the head bolt design.
the current progress has been waterslide decals. i bought a few zeon decal sets from Delpi decal and have been positioning them on the kit in ways i think will look good. it's been hell getting them to look good, but the rewards are satisfying.
i got the kotobukiya M.S.G. mecha supply joint set [type B] a couple years back. painted them up. the arm parts were perfect for the build. Retracted, they make the funnel pods look sick! Unleashed, they make red grandpa a little top heavy... but it looks awesome; had to work on that.
i then expanded upon the kit's colors using a metallic set of acrylic markers for accents and a rattle can of Tamiya PS-37 translucent red. liked the way it came out.
i also picked up an Anubis studio TX-037 MSE (mobile suit ensemble, a smaller scale shokugan kit series) dual beam saber kit with the intention of making into the gundam's "beam naginata" like the gelgoog.
thanks to a friend who 3D prints and a deep-dive for STL files, i got a couple gelgoog shields for the build. (originally i got a Heavy Zeon shield from vhobby, but felt it didn't fit the aesthetic.)
i figured since it's a "zeonic" gundam, the gelgoog arsenal would reflect that. the gelgoog beam rifle is from "HWS/heavy weapon systems" on etsy (now closed). It came in a 2-pack with a zaku machine gun with an underbarrel grenade launcher; i painted it as well. optic is from MS sight lens 01
after purchasing some acrylic paint markers, i decided to paint the funnel system to blend with the base kit. the red was fine, later i felt metallic red for the funnel pods would be better.
