Used the last of my energy to put my new cubes in my new shelves and I’m very pleased except!!! They are like 1-2 cm too big so it’s very hard to move them in and out 🙃 But at least they’re fabric and flexible so I can shove them in there

Kitchen demo took them 4 days instead of 2 but it’s finally done. Every single thing is covered in cement dust, despite the kitchen being dressed up like a quarantine zone. The counters were tile set in concrete with chicken wire in it But we’re all obsessed with this original 60s wallpaper

Tourists are very unlikely to step on a mine, it tends to be people cutting across fields. There are accessible places (like next to the road) that have mines, but those are the well-marked areas. The biggest danger now is kids finding them and playing with them (this is at the demining center)
Oh I forgot to answer about the food! The food is REALLY good. Traditional Khmer food can be hit or miss but when dishes are good they are REALLY good (Fish Amok is the must-try, I also really like snake fish and the morning breakfast soup which is very similar to pho)
And I think a lot of it is because we *don’t* learn anything about it and a lot of people in the west aren’t at all aware of the history, but Angkor was bigger than London or Paris at the time I can talk about this a LOT lol
And it sounds cheesy or exaggerated, but Angkor can be *life-changing*. As my sister said when she went there “It changed me as a person”. It’s hard to understand how massive it is until you’re standing in it, and then there’s so much more!
