It's going to be a hot one today. Let's all stay hydrated and do our best not to burn the state down. Everyone plays a role in preventing roadside brush fires and larger wildfires. Small, everyday actions can make a big difference.

Attention SR 507 Travelers in Yelm! SR 507 is blocked in both directions for a crash near the Nisqually River. There is no detour. Use alternate routes. We expect this to be a lengthy closure. @piercetransit.bsky.social

Heads up Puyallup! Pack your patience on WB SR 512. The left lane is closed while we fix the cable rail. It will take a bit more time. We'd do this work at night if we could. The rail is linked and under tension. It has to be fixed ASAP so it doesn't snap and end up in the road.

It's our last big weekend for the I-5 work in DuPont/JBLM. People who travel I-5 to and from DuPont or Steilacoom can expect detours and additional travel time the weekend of July 10-13. Lots of paving this weekend. See southbound I-5 ramp and lane closure information below.

Southbound I-5 exit to Steilacoom-Dupont Road will close.
From 9 p.m. Sunday, July 12 to 4:30 a.m. Monday, July 13:

Southbound I-5 exit to Center Drive will close.
Signed detours will be posted.

Southbound HOV lane open to all
Southbound I-5 approaching the work zone will have three lanes open from 9 p.m. Friday, July 10 to 4:30 a.m. Monday, July 13. During the weekend construction, the HOV lane will be open to all.

Heads up Clallam County! A large tree is blocking both directions of US 101 in the Lake Crescent area. The highway is closed until further notice while we work to remove the tree. Detour via SR 112 and SR 113.

Update: One lane remains blocked on EB SR 512 near SR 161 in Puyallup due to an earlier collision. Tow is on scene removing the vehicle. Our crews are on the way to fix the cable barrier. This will be an extended lane closure while crews make repairs.

Heads up Olympia! We didn't plan on closing the right lane of NB US 101 near Cooper Point Exit this afternoon. Our crews are looking into a depression in the road there. Expect the right lane to remain closed and congestion in the area while we check things out.

We're not building a rebel base on the planet Hoth. This is the new culvert we're installing under SR 3 near Gorst to help improve fish migration. It's also designed to help prevent flooding and withstand earthquakes. Added benefit: bear playground.

Heads up commuters! Two lanes are closed across the SR 16 Tacoma Narrows Bridge to Gig Harbor. The Jackson Ave ramp to SR 16 is also closed. We're making emergency repairs to this bridge joint. Expect congestion and delays during the PM commute.
