Writer/artist maintaining public gallery/studio because madness should be a spectator sport. Avid journaler, poet & essayist. Advocate for women, arts, cats, & love. My muse anchors me or I’d stay in these clouds. He’s cute—cooks, & gardens.
A book I had an essay in was taken to a staff meeting. It was a day diary I kept during an EEO issue & guess some weren’t happy. When it came out I was living in DC & telling everyone in Borders I was in it. In DC, most everyone in bookstores back in the day was an author. Love journaling. #writer
This was one of first times I painted at Kuerner’s Farm in Chadds Ford Pennsylvania. Andrew Wyeth painted over 2,000 paintings here. His Dad, NC Wyeth died on train tracks near the farm. I’ve painted both in the evenings &during the day here. There is something melancholy & spiritual. #artistatwork
A metaphor for condition our condition is in in the good old USA now… the 1200 plus Epstein victims deserve justice — @coons.senate.gov @bluntrochester.senate.gov please do not vote to confirm an enabler. Please convince all your GOP colleagues to do the right thing. Women deserve justice.
So fun…my gallery’s in a really cool history spot — it’s were our old #Delaware guys got together & ratified the Constitution a few years ago and Delaware became the #firststate. I give mayor of Dover a copy of some of those who signed to hang on the wire (chicken wire as we’re broiler nation)
Sold this older Plein air painting to a wonderful young collector. He almost bought a floral one of Mt. Cuba but he opted instead for an unusual view of the Governor’s mansion. I also like capturing some of our MidAtlantic Ghost trees which are being killed by salt water infringement. #artistatwork
Wow. Congrats to him. I was like 75 before I ever saw one in person. I got this shot in Laurel Delaware a couple of years or so ago. His shot is so amazing! Great job!
A #rainbow is always fun to see and this one is over Legislative Hall in #DoverDelaware. #historicdistrict #firststate #heatwave

Signing in at premier poetry reading @TheListeningBooth Rt 1 in Lewes Delaware. #poetryreading
I think this is a moth and not a butterfly. Fireflies are out now in the evening.
“Warning” was famous back in the 1990’s. I first read it earlier in an anthology and remember thinking how cool it was. I was friends with Sandra Martz and she did so much for women writers.
Off to a slow start this morning Plein air painting. A friend has a fabulous garden and it’s overwhelming to capture what I’d wanted to do. I wanted to do her broken heron but it’s a challenge as green is the name of my existence.
Tu Pac’s rap’s stuck in my soul. I’m so sick & tired of some of uber rich who have so little to complain about & yet they do so many times as if some benefit some less-fortunate person receives is somehow a slight to them. In any event, hoping to have poem ready for reading based on Tu Pac’s insight
This is supposed to be yellow lilies…is orange the new yellow and I didn’t get a memo or something? #gardening #flowers
There is a sunflower finally & these 3 little flowers are something else but I forget what. I feel like it’s really summer when there’s a sunflower, hummingbirds, & tons of gold finches. The finches love the sunflower seeds almost as much as thistle feeders. Love seeing them upside down.
Fading lilies are still pretty… so want some rain and hoping heat holds off.
A handwritten letter from the old days when my dad died just a few days before #Fathersday. If I find the second page will post that in comments but for some reason I don’t see it. “Barney” was my art teacher - never knew her first name or her maiden name and she did not note her Dad’s name.
What a delightful surprise to discover McCollough was also a visual artist as well. The inside front and back cover includes some of his art. #creativity
“Talking Classics” was logged in yesterday. The one I order today from Wave is an author I’m not familiar with so look forward to that one!
It’s been book kind of holiday weekend. Added 8 books from B&N in Rehoboth Beach. Picked up three at 302 Farmhouse & just ordered one directly from Wave Books today. Have poetry reading this week and getting the well primed for sure! I keep book log at studio/gallery. There’s 697 here! Tons at home!
Everyone says to do a video. We don’t do videos very well but I have some cups now with a cute blue hen on them. :-) People are saying it’s the 250 celebration. Everything seems to be a matter of perspective these days, doesn’t it? Please shop small if you are out shopping in an analog fashion.
Don’t forget about an important part of US history —My gallery is located on the historic #undergroundrailroad route. We won an SBA award a few years ago as Harriet Tubman used Kings Way as one of her routes…part of State street now… #DE250 #Delaware #historymatters deldot.gov/Programs/byw...
This is cool! Onward! #artmatters #readingisfundental #writingmatters
