I now possess the original paper printings of all four Velveteen books by @seananmcguire.bsky.social (Seanan was kind enough to sign book two to my spouse, so if we divorce, they get the book.) Squee! I can't wait to read book four!
This picture does not do it justice; tonight was an amazing sunset and moonrise. The pink clouds and blue sky have merged into lavender twilight.
And for the eighth night, a completely new set of candles! Chag sameach, all!
And for tonight, stripey lights against the darkness! And Thy Word/Broke their sword/When our own strength/Failed us.
A double header tonight! Last night, we lit our hannukiyah at our synagogue with the congregation. It was ablaze with light!
We finished off the original box of candles last night and are on to box 2. Let there be light.
If anyone knows this artist, could they let me know? I got the print at Seattle Comic-Con or Pax West in 2016, and I'd love more of their work.
I made the Cook's Illustrated Maple-Glazed Acorn Squash tonight, and it was super tasty. Charred, but not burnt, and enough cayenne in the glaze to cut the sweet. I'll probably slice it thinner next time.
I'm finishing up the iced tea I made from this, and it's a lovely, refreshing tea. It's got some fruity accents from the blueberries and pineapple. Very refreshing, even in the winter! This is from the fantastic Friday Afternoon Tea. (www.fridaytea.com)
