Look at that pecan tree sway! I could chill out in this hammock all day. The chilly thunderstorm downdraft cooled down a high-90’s afternoon and kept the mosquitos pinned down. Unfortunately, eventually the rain and lightning drove me inside.
Arrived early to my favorite surf spot this morning. I thought I had it all to myself but then, before I could drop anchor, this old friend showed up.
5th of July, 2026. No parades. No fireworks. Peace. Oh yeah, it will always be the Gulf of Mexico to me.
Today was a battle between the clouds, sun and wind. Throw in some seaweed and one would think the day was a bust. Nope, relaxed at a secluded north-facing beach.
Ok. I’m too old to start the work week with 2 rock shows. Thank goodness for Waffle House!
Fun waves yesterday in the Gulf of Mexico. Long rides on my old beater SUP. So lucky to live where a 15 minute boat ride can get me to a sandbar where I’m all alone on the wave.
So . . . If, while setting the time on your home alarm, you accidentally trigger a silent medical alert, and they send EMS, maybe this isn’t the best shirt to wear to answer the door. He seemed skeptical. Don’t forget to reset your clocks.
Some mornings it’s too hot or too cold to workout, what do you do when it’s too evil?
Found this floating in the channel. Someone actually bought this flag to fly from their boat on the 4th of July! It’s literally . . . Christ . . . On a stick! Jesus died for America, ya’ll!
Work has been nuts. Getting ready for 2 trials. Tons of travel. In the last 14 days I’ve defended expert depositions in New Orleans, Charlotte, Asheville and NYC. Home tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I can take Sunday off to chill. Here’s to a brief respite.
Aaaaargh! I have spent several hours over the course of the weekend replacing vanity lights. Original contractor used whatever scraps they found scattered throughout the trunk of their dumbest apprentice electrician. Hey no big deal, it’s just ELECTRICITY!
How many lawyers does it take to replace a guest bath vanity light? Just 1. However, can anyone guess why I ultimately had to use gloves, kneepads, a bucket, Allen wrenches and pipe wrenches to my tools to finish the job? I will “reply” with the answer later today. I need a drink.
I’m not sure how I got on this list or what “pure” citizenship is but I AM sure every aspect of this text spam pisses me off.
