It’s also funny to watch people do mental gymnastics to complain about both “too much homework” and “not enough setup” in the same breath. Amazing.
I don’t read this and think “George Lucas is excited about A.I. stuff.” I read it and think “George’s faith in PEOPLE is at an all-time low.” Which of course makes it even more fascinating that he’s dedicating his remaining years to documenting the people’s art. He is, as always, on a journey.
This is going to be reported on like a straight up endorsement, when it really just reads like George having another classic maybe-too-intense George moment. The main vibe of his comments isn’t really “yay A.I. is the future,” but more so him expressing an admittedly defeatist long game prediction.
I have zero stake in this whatsoever, but spiritually, and even cosmically, it would be very funny if we lost. Funny, and even deserved.
His name is Mando, but at any given moment I might call him Mandalorian, Mandeen, Mandolin, Mister Man, Armando, Cheemz, Choomz, Sweet Boy, Stinker, Sneaky Sneak, Gremlin, Goob, sometimes Gremlin-Goob as a combo, or just a series of “weewoo” sounds.
US shook me in a very real way. GET OUT might be Peele’s “best” script, and NOPE might be his “best” directorial effort, but US remains my favorite of the three because it’s so uniquely terrifying. Maybe that’s just me. But the implications and unspoken elements in the story have stayed with me.
Josh O'Connor is on a fucking run right now. Very special performer.
Regardless of the business and brand landscapes, I’ve loved the Fifteenth Doctor since day one, and I always will. One of my favorite interpretations. Brilliant performance. See you in the 70th, Ncuti. (And hopefully sooner!)
Weird how everyone is acting like Doctor Who is disappearing after they literally just revealed the new incarnation a few weeks ago???
I’m in the process of torturing myself by trying to craft a Top 50 Favorite Star Wars Characters list (for no good reason). And after much deliberation and introspection, I’ve finally settled on my High Republic Rushmore:
[taps mic] Done with work for today. AMA (Does not have to be Star Wars related, but who knows? Could be a thought starter for the pod too.)
