One of my favorite artworks, James Ensor’s “Self Portrait in 1960” (he died in 1949, born in 1860)
Went to the Mildred Howard retrospective at the Oakland Museum yesterday— not a lot of pieces but impactful installation. The reflection of the glass apples on the wall with the red house (“Blackbird in a Red Sky”) and the three projected images on lace scrim were my favorites

I painted a copy of this poster when I was a kid — but I made a little change 😂
I think “Close to Home, large no. 1” (48 x54”) is just about finished. Time to take this series up to 63 x 72”!
Successfully moved the cat! Now I gotta take a bookshelf apart and reassemble it upstairs 😅
Slowly putting the new studio/office together in the den (used to be upstairs) but I gotta move the cat at some point. On the bright side, I now have the space to make 6x8 foot paintings again!
I’ve never seen this photo before — what a treat! The Robin Williams Tunnel makes me smile every time I head home from a SF trip
