While going back to the original Gold, Silver, and Crystal still has its charm, but HGSS feels like it really refines the experience. By no means do I consider it a replacement to the original, but I think it's a great compliment.
For a game that was already a worse retread of Star Fox 64, it was made infinitely worse by having an awful control scheme that was just there to justify the Wii U Gamepad. I know it has its defenders, I'm not one of them, and I think it's one of the worst games Nintendo ever made.
