I like to work while watching the cubbies wrestle in a side window. The bear chat says this is #909 and her cubs.

Watching Grazer (nickname for Bear #128) fish is always a delight. She's been catching one a minute for the past 5ish minutes, eating the good parts, then going back and grabbing another like it's nothing.

Capital Budget going down is good because it means we're building things.

We're paying off the John Stanford Center next year.

Once again, thank you Seattle taxpayers, otherwise this would be an $11+ million hole we've dug ourselves. We shoveled that extra levy funding in there.

Now we're talking about all the things that end up in the slush pile of "Purchased Services". Some of those things are things we HAVE to have. Need to do a better job of explaining what's in there. Need to at least call out big ticket stuff.

Here is the spend by state program. There is some nuanced reason why spending a little less on teaching because of a policy change reducing the contingency needed. Other things have sunset-ed, but new things are in.

Thank goodness some people in the state leg do like education and Seattle and allowed us to collect more levy money.

Stronger K cohort capture. Higher 6th and 9th grade retention.

Parents seemed to like the move up in the timeline to February.

HCC update. 45% opted in for pathway/cohort.

Few kids left on the waitlist this year compared to other years.

97% of choice applicants were offered a choice placement.

WHOOPS JOKE'S ON ME! Most difference from February Projections was less kids wanting to go to option schools than predicted.
